Why does no-one like the Moon destiny card?
I've read quite a few guides and watched Youtube for tips, and no-one recommends using the Moon. I'm only at L24, but already have a number of weapons with 25%+ chance to crit. Adding two Moon cards to my slots means a good chance to do +250 damage over and above what the weapon can achieve.
When Legendary weapons only have about 30% increased damage over entry level ones why does this card get so little love?

It's great at lower levels, but it doesn't scale with any modifiers in the game. So that 250 damage is going to be 250 at max level. At that point, you have the potential to be doing damage in the 10,000+ range, or even 100,000+ with some builds.

So you're referring to percentage damage increases or synergies between different damage types?

At the moment the melee and ranged attack boost cards give 20% and 10% if I remember correctly. That isn't going to do much when base weapon damage doesn't scale, or get near 10 000 even if the legendary cards jump to 200% and 100%.

I've read your Hardcore Hard Mode guide, and am trying to follow that but am still learning. You mention Heartbreaker and Death Machine cards?

What kind of level does this non-weapon damage really start to scale up?

Thanks

I'm referring to attacks that scale with weapon damage and damage modifiers. Frailty, Berserker Aura, Critical Damage, Cursed weapon property, Devastating weapon property, Wild Cards, and Enraged are examples of damage modifiers. Of everything listed here, only Frailty would apply to Moon because it is nature as a static damage attack.

Here's an example, albeit in a controlled situation, of the potential damage you can reach in this game.

In practical use, you won't often reach into the millions, however. It's not uncommon to see numbers in the upper 6-digits. At this point, The Moon just doesn't offer as much. But at lower levels, that 250 damage can one shot a decent number of the monsters you encounter. That's what I mean by saying that it's good at low levels, but other Destiny Cards just eventually outclass it.

Heartbreaker is used for applying weakness so that you take 50% less damage. Death Machine is a strong, spammable Area of Effect damage demon power that ignores armor and controls non-champion targets.

Demon Powers don't really scale up either. Obelisk cards can increase their damage a bit, but honestly it's a safe option that synergizes with Mikkey's Outfit in order to provide 80% health every couple of seconds, but it's low on the damage end. That's why I prefer it in Hardcore Mode, where survival has to be prioritized.
