New player needs some tips
SO Im lvl 51 on the GOG version. Normally im a D2/D3 PoTe badass but in VV im feeling a hrd grind ahead. I just finished the main campaigns boss, lvl 51, and I feel underpowered and weak. challenges are night impossible. dying constantly with modifiers turned off, and all the build guides are full specced endgame perfect loot etc..

Now all ARPG's have strats to farm and pieces to aim for as progression into end game grinds, the guides section of VV and youtube is not helpful here. as a lvl 51, where should i be grinding, what less niche builds are viable. Whats the best way to use tranmuter etc..

ok so i created some useful tips that i didn't find anywhere else, at least in english. This should be in a beginners guide or something basic.

The most useful transmutations, is using 4 of the same rarity Demon Power and upgrading until it's legendary. Choose the one that costs most as the base power, once it hits a threshold it will upgrade 1 rarity

The Vanguard armor (all armors) can be upgraded with legendary cards and powers. Upgrade the Vanguard secondary power until it reaches it's max of -10% from the -40% base. then upgrade the armor value. 100 Armor +45 Armor Pen, not losing overdrive and only -10% overdrive gain. you're tanky and dps in any build.

Register an online account and go online you need this to claim treasure codes and people often drop codes in world chat. Nab the Starwars Light saber codes, [FEEL-THE-FORCE], and [JOIN-THE-DARK-SIDE] . The Counselor Light Saber + Upgraded Vanguard Armor is bonkers durable and +65% Overdrive as well as basic attacks reflect range attacks.

These are all super helpful and available early on for all players.

Your offhand weapons passive is active on you, have an offhand with +Drop Quality (Extraordinary Luck) at all times. toss +EXP or +Loot amount on as another suffix. +Loot, +Lootquality work for all chests including the gift chests.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3SbtQF5Qzs is my favorite champion grinding location. That's how to rush to it on hardcore mode, but the location is the same.

There's also a decent farming location in The Hunting Grounds. Exit to the Hunting Grounds from the Devil's Throat. Take a left, kill the Champion Essence there, and follow the path right to the Champion Skeleton. You won't get anything from Motorhead to drop from these, but it's good if you don't have the core game. As long as you exited from Devil's Throat, you can keep resetting to get kills.

Champions always drop some loot. It's random, but you get a little bit of everything, with the exception of the Blink Demon Power, which doesn't drop from essences for one reason or another.

For cards, your best bet is either Gabriel or Queen of the Damned. They always drop at least 5 cards when you kill them. Queen of the Damned can be one shot with Ember or similar one shot builds, so that's the one I'd recommend. Gabriel also won't drop anything Motorhead related.

Those are loot tips. Is there something more specific you wanted answered?
are rares even worth it if legendaries are dropping? other then my offhand loot farm item. I dont use yellow weapon, or even take a look at them

Legendaries have a chance to drop any time loot would drop. So killing champions increases the frequency of you obtaining them. It's boring, but farming the same guy over and over again is typically the best way to get loot, unless you're going after cards or non-motorhead demon powers.

Besides that, Yellow (rare) weapons are worth it. A well crafted yellow is better in most cases than legendary items. There are a few exceptions (Fifty shades of Slay for example), but being able to put devastating and cursed on a single weapon usually outweighs the special legendary property.

For the non-epic encounters (I would estimate even up to epic 20 or so), any legendary is viable. You'd have to climb bottomless pit or the fracture to get any higher than that. Currently, as I'm writing this, 100 Epic is only capable on a handful of builds (without mods), none of which use legendary items for damage. Solo gets use as a support weapon, but that's about it.

ok so, whats the meta suffix and prefix for weapons, im looking for an Elder *** of the Extremely Lucky for my offhand so i can add luck to it.

ATM my cards support, hammers, scythes, swords, tomes, shock gun. just hit 60(1) been going through motorhead dlc. Is there stuff i should be aiming for? The builds i find are generaly rank 200+ accounts and are all legendary loadouts which doesnt help me at all. i run 3-5 hexes at a time depending on the map

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking here. If you are trying to maximize your damage, then you'll be looking for a devastating or cursed prefix so that can add whichever one is missing. They are multiplicative.

Suffix comes down to personal taste and build. Duelist is good if you do divine setups to cover armor pen for 120 armor from hexes. Assassins, of the Wolf, of the Fox are also common and strong choices.

As for builds, there are a number of places to look. Here's my two guides. I have my favorite end game and starter build in them. Hardcore Hardmode from Scratch has a simple build that is easy to put together but still effective. I'd start there since it makes use of weapons you can get from Irene. Pistol Vigilante is for speed clearing, one-shotting, and general trash clearing. The Devil's Kiss is an Epic 100 build.

Dude the endgame is BRUTAL simply because your gear does not level but the enemies do. Learn to roll and grab some legendaries like those health on hit revolvers or an electric guitar and powerslide your way down the hole!
GOOD LUCK DUDE!

You can upgrade your gear. Just fyi

Yeah with cards I know but damn they all start at ac0 its a terrible grind to get them up to snuff. What I meant was you always seemed undergeared heading into an equal level map.

Not meaning to highjack the thread, but two specific questions here. I'm new to VV too, L16 atm. Not playing any hexes. I'm going though healing potions at a rate and only playing on normal.
1. Should I go back to the Hunting Grounds and work on my movement skills there so I can avoid damage? It's nice and open so I can run easily if needed (and farm gear).
2. Rarely fill my overdrive bar so I can't use the decent demon powers that I have. Guessing that I need to play more aggressively and accept that I'll do quite a bit of dying until I improve

1. Movement is important in this game and just face tanking/dps is actually going to get you dead in most cases. I suggest getting comfortable with rolling out of the way as a reflex skill.

2. As far as OD is concerned you can change your outfit that will increase your OD amount. That being said, many of the skills will not let you charge your meter when using them so it gets extremely frustrating at times.

I'd also add that every monster's move is telegraphed in this game. Most attacks can be absorbed without too much fuss, but almost every monster has something they do that really hurts. You just need to learn what each attack looks like, especially the attacks that hurt or could one shot you. Practice dodging those attacks at the last second or close to the last second.

Thanks, will get back to the game then :steamhappy:
I assume the item passives for health steal or overdrive gain also work when the weapon is offhand? The luck one does from what I've read

If you have trouble finding the legendarys and struglling with monsters, first grind up yellows, they must be good, and then upgrade them it might take a while but its worth it, this game is grind to win.
