can't kill apocalypse... IMPOSSIBLE
I'm playing co-op, both at level 42 on hard, legendary weapons, good cards... tried everything... can't kill him... tried to focus on him, or focus on the wraiths... the close we could get was 1/5 of the hp bar, but the last 4 wraiths raped us... no, we are not bad, actually I think we are doing very good, but we can't give good damage and we take a lot of damage, even dodging etc... we tried to level up, but looks like it's getting harder... wtf... giving up of this game

Legendary weapons in this (like in Diablo 3 & Path of Exile) are unique in that they have a special modifier that no weapons of other rarity can get but they aren't necessarily stronger than good rare weapons. They all are either REALLY good for Certain situations and/or require a special playstyle/ build to use them effectively.
A self-crafted rare weapon with 3 damage-modifiers beats most legendary weapons most of the time when it comes to pure dps.

And: good destiny cards (?) .. with demonic/ divine extra stats??

Also keep in mind that killing a wraith immobilises Apocalypse but killing a wraith while Apoc is already down doesn't do anything..

First of all, Apocalypse is one of the hardest, if not THE hardest fight in the game. What you're experiencing is normal, especially if you're taking him on in hard mode.

I would suggest swapping your build around. When I play hardcore hard mode from scratch, I almost always play a high overdrive generating, demon power spamming build.

I run double healing potions because they are cheap, and I let weapons with vampirism or leech heal me between potion cooldowns. I don’t usually even need to use my potions. Vampire’s blood / Healing potion is best for this kind of build if you can afford the Vampire’s blood.

I like Zealous / Vampirism or Leech on my weapons and run Hunter’s outfit. Tome / Hammer is really good for this strategy. So is lightnining gun / Hammer. Vampirism is great on tome and lightning gun, leech is better on Hammer. At the very least, you need zealous in both of your weapons.

Note: Irene sells leveled equipment, in which there's a hammer that's Zealous / Vampirism and a Tome that is Zealous / Duelist. These are pretty good choices.

Also Note: If you have Fractured Worlds, GebaN in that hub sales leveled equipment in that hub as well. There's a Zealous / Vampirism tome there, which is great for lower levels.

Pick high damaging demon powers. At least one needs to be spammable. If you have Motörhead, Death Machine is best. If it’s the core game, I like Meteor / Shockwave or Meteor / Sunray. If you have vampirism on your weapon, make sure it's equipped when you use your Demon Power since it will activate on those hits too.

The cards that I like to run are Tower / Obelisk / Beast / Archer because they are pretty common and easy to find. Swapping Archer out for another Tower or Obelisk isn’t a bad idea either, if you find yourself using melee weapons.

Eventually you'll want to do the following:
1. Swap Beast to Devil.
2. Swap Archer to Wildcard.
3. Equip a Barbarian card.
Prioritize the swaps based on what drops for you, but especially prioritize getting a Barbarian card. Barbarian will make all of your cooldowns reset every 10 seconds since this build generates so much overdrive. This includes your potions.

If you are running something like this, Apocalypse won't be too difficult. Using what I've listed above, this is the strategy I like to use when fighting him:

1. Dimension Wave into Apocalypse so that the tome leaves behind its damaging field right on top of him. Swap to Hammer, since the damage that field does is based on the weapon you are holding.

2. While Dimension Wave damages Apocalypse, use the hammer and the overdrive being generated by Dimension Wave to focus on any wraiths that are up.

3. Use the tome sparingly for healing (vampirism) or to gather Arcane Orbs. Singularity Orb is also really good at gathering the wraiths, and it applies frailty to them, but they have a tendency to move around so this is less effective than it would be normally. Double Singularity Orb still packs quite the punch though.

4. You can get a good quick burst of healing by using Smash, which applies 20% lifesteal, and then swapping to tome and using Singularity Orb(s) to heal.

5. Keep the Dimension Wave field up on Apocalypse as much as possible. It will deal damage to him even while he is switching locations. If you are holding a hammer, the damage on that will be great.

6. As Xylt said, try to save one wraith to kill in order to immobilize Apocalypse and keep his damage down.

Lightning gun + sunray = dead fast. Spam lightning balls, and aim the trap right at him and charge it fully. Stay near the outside edge to keep away from his attackes. Can just sit there and hit him with the main gun attack. Use sunray on wraiths when they spawn and make sure you got lots of balls floating around as they will converge on them at that point. Was one of the easier bosses imo as his positioning makes things so much easier for a range build, and after tweaking strat a bit for the 4 wraiths at the end.

now I'm stuck with gabriel (last part)... I'm using a good tome now, brutality + orbs, but he keeps spamming some shadow ball ♥♥♥♥... very hard to attack him in the last part. how can I improve my character? I'm not leveling, cause when I do, the game gets more dificult

The thing with that ball attack of Gabriel is, that the most dangerous part about it is the "increased damage taken"-debuff it gives you once it hits you.
Iirc you can get some "-X% debuff duration" mods (which is iirc a divine mod on cards) (Max for that should be -80% duration). That should make it so you only really have to dodge every other ball (depending on how long the debuff actually lasts in the end)

With the leveling it's i.g. that at specific levels monsters get new/ better modifiers (besides the rather small increase in health or dmg) -> not every level-up makes it noticably more difficult.
With lvl 42 you should've hit one of those "special" level-ups (which was around lvl40) and should be safe to lvl up a few lvls.
But I honestly don't remember the exact mob modifier table anymore so not completly sure
