best way to farm legendary gear?

I have tried transmuting my rare weapons but the chances of getting legendaries are very low. Is there a better way to farm legendaries? Bosses to farm? re-opening secrets? Should i activate hexes and do elite challenges?

I think they drop randomly. Keep playing and they will eventually drop.

Chances by getting Legs via transmutation aren't great but nonetheless I got most of my Legs via transmuting Rares.
I don't think I ever got a Leg from Secrets (same for Challenge rewards). So it's my believe they're only dropping randomly by fighting. The killed mob doesn't have to be a boss. Champions drop Legs also, that's pretty shure.
When farming for weapons or Demon Powers ALWAYS wear a weapon with Extraordinary Luck ("give better items", can be off-hand) and never wear two of them. I read about a bug where two of them nullify each other and that's pretty that what I was experiencing.
I don't think there's a way to farm Legs especially. It's all about farming weapons and having luck.

good places for wep drops would be the collectors residence or cauldron of chaos and blitzing through them. have a luck ennhancing weapon in your second slot and put on some hexes, reduce them if it ends up making fights too long.

Which luck modifier is better, 'Find % more items' or 'Find better items'? I got both with 40% increase. But is it better to stack wo % or does the 'better' actually make legendaries drop more?

It's like the text says:
"Find more items" let drop more items and "find better items" let drop better ones (higher rarity but not more of them).
So as a farming-weapon you will always want to have one with both modifiers.
Since you cannot find a weapon with both modifiers on it and you cannot transmute "better items" on a weapon you need to find a "better items" weapon (Extraordinary Luck) and transmute "more items" (Luck) on it to get a perfect farming weapon.
People say absolutely perfect would be a weapon with "more XP" (Elder Prefix), "more items" (Luck Suffix) and "better items" (Extraordinary Luck Suffix) all in one.
I, personally, don't care about XP in lategame and go for "Cursed" Prefix for more damage and no gold (since there is a point in the game where gold isn't a problem anymore) and "Extraordinary Luck" Suffix and transmute "Luck" on it.
