Sir.Tomato - thank you for the url's, as mentioned I think its hard to find stuff on this forum. So thanks.
Venuminostrates - "Wicked / Divine Effects:" ofc forgot, as mentioned totally new to the game.
(started middle last week or so, only lvl 60+16). So I have just gotten to the Wicked / Divine Effects.
About them : When I make a card Wicked / Divine, I pick a card of my choosing in the transmuter and 3 x Wicked / Divine depending on what I want. When that card get its effect and I dont like it, do I then need a new card and do the procedure over again, or can I change the allready effected card ?
Thanks a lot for all the builds you came with, I will try them all :D (as long as I get / have all the items that is)
Quick side question : When it comes to farming gear / recipes / weapon / cards / whatsnot.
is some place better then others ?
I hear : Den of the Broodmother is good, skip all adds and rush in there. (perhaps that was xp wise)
Bottomless pit ? (a bit much of the same perhaps)
New, but willing to learn, so all tips are welcome.
Thanks again for tips and builds. I'll write them down, and start testing.
Cheer.
1. Once you add devine/wicked attribute to a card, you can not change the given attribute. You will need new card without any attributes in order to try your luck in getting the div/wick attribute you want. 98% of this game is rng, which could be somewhat infuriating.
2. Regarding farming ( i will quote Venuminostrates here)
Den of the broodmother- xp and some cards
Queen of the damned - cards
Champion essense outside of Bedeviled Vault in motorhead expansion - deamon powers
Cheers
P.s. excuse any typing mistakes. I am not a native speaker :)
Edit: removed info about possible exploit.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer and gimme some pointers.
Regarding the copy card I am not in that kinda hurry, and I as you also say call that a cheat / exploit and it will ruin the fun for me. So that's not gonna happen, but thanks for telling and sharing anyways pal.
the farming : Cheers, I will learn how to take'em all the best I can ^^
And the making of builds is what I like also, that's why I ask for this, so I can get some builds that's viable and good so I can learn from them, then tweak them into my play style and later when I get the hang of it, make my own as well.
English is not my first language neither so its all good anyways, and you make yourself perfectly clear.
Cheers.
Venuminostrates.
Thanks again for the info you provide and all you have learned Sir.Tomato , he's being most helpful also.
you say :
Its not that I don't want know how to use the build, I think I placed my words a bit wrong in the first post.
But many of the builds I've read and seen it seams some people go a bit off track and sometimes why too deep in the build, then it gets to much and overwhelming and I fell out when I try to read it and just give up or go to next :D
So some text to the builds or a quick how they work would be awesome.
I'm not saying you need to edit you post and place it there, just wanted to be clear :D
I think I get a lot of them tho, when I set them up 1 by one , item for item , and card for card and read when doing it, I do understand. And they're really good mate. I appreciate the info.
Cheers to you 2.
Ford Fairlane: So many a-holes... So few bullets...
Feel free to ask more questions and sorry for yet another offtopic post.
Cheers and happy gaming
I see some builds such as the one with lightning gun + hammer (demon power build) sais to shoot lightning orb and cast powers then switch to hammer aka the offhand.
Does the dmg from the lightning orbs come from the dmg of the equipped weapon at all time ?
or why is it hammer that's the OH ? I assumed since its a "2 handed" hammer and higher dps due to attack speed etc.
But then again other places I see, "pick hammer or tome" in OH... and tome, the book is no "2 handed" book(perhaps a huge Encyclopedia, or a old bible).... at least no weapon he he. And the dmg range on those 2 are quite different.
But I feel much more confident with a tome then a hammer.
Due to the massive orb dmg and the "Dimension wave" teleport getaway skill.
I really like the setup with Revolver + Solo (guitar), same with the lightning gun and heartbreaker power/death machine.
been running a couple of "Queen of The Damned" runs to test
I am not that good with melee weapons it seams, would like to be better and understand the way of the melee also.
I remember leveling up loving the Scythe.
Is it any point being good with Rapier ? is it useful in anyway, I find it a bit dull.
But I see there are a lot of people out there with sword.
See almost none with shotgun, rapier or mortar.
But a viable build of each weapon I'd say is a must.
You're No Hunter without manage to master each weapon are you ? :D
Regarding the tome. In general, from what i learned from the guides and on my own, a good build in this game is a build which allows you to stack as many positive conditions and buffs on yourself and as much as possible negative conditions and debuffs on the mobs. Lets give a very simplifyed example. The tomes singularity orb weapon attack causes frality ( the enemy takes 100% more dmg) . Now you have to think on the build as a whole.in our short example, after u cast sing orb on an enemy, you can switch to hammmer (and the hammers have the highest base danage in the game), if the hammer makes lets sat 150 dmg, with the debuf on the enemy from sing orb, you will make 300 dmg. So far so good. Now lets think on more global scale. If you for example have in addition boon talisman on, one of the positive effects it grants is +33% attack speed(and not only that, but lets keep it simple). So for the short time the Frailty debuff from the sing orb attack is still active, you will be able to score not 1 but maybe 2 attack on the enemy, making overall 600 dmg. And this goes on with the cards and the other gear. I hope that you now got the idea. Basically, a combination of light. gun and hammer, you will use the light. Gun to make some orbs and than u will switch to the hammer for the orbs to make more dmg. In the example of light gun+ tome, you will cast some orbs, strike the enemy with the toms singularity orb special attack for the similar effect. Keep in mind that this example is very very simplified. Let you imagination be creative ;) i would advice you to check the pistol vigilanty guide in the guides section. However, within this guides there are many builds explained. The build you need is "the devils kiss" (which btw Venu posted in this thread as well). Please focus on his explanation how he stacks many dmg buffs on each other. Keep in mind that this is a veteran build, so dont expect to be able to perform what he discribes, but just for you to understand the synergies and the mechanics in the background better.
Regarding the Scythe. I loved this weapon while leveling too. Sadly i dont find as potent as i hoped in the end game. I can explain why if you are intrested :) dont want to bore yoou.
Cheers
Yes. You cannot override a card with another wicked or divine effect if there is already one on it.
I'll be making a guide on loot grinding this summer. But Sir Tomato gave my favorites. I'll mention a few more :)
A) For exp = Broodmother
B) For regular gear = Find a single champion and close to an entrance of a map and farm him over and over. I like to use the one outside the bedeviled vault, but there are many. Farming Monuements of Rock work well for this too, as well as any place that has a high concentration of champions such as The Collector's residence or Secret Pumpkin level.
C) For cards: You can either farm loot boxes from leveling up. Transmute them up to yellow or purple and then open them (purple is slightly better). Or you can kill Queen of the Damned or Gabriel repeatedly. They drop 4-6 cards every time. Queen of the Damned is faster and she can be one shot with ember.
D) Secrets. If you can get fast at these, this is also where talismans seems to drop the most. Both Zagoravia and Motorhead. I'll be putting a quick version of farming these in my loot guide this summer, but for now, just try and farm them all.
Sir Tomato's explanation is spot on about buff stacking. But there's also a few other things about why you would switch to a hammer for ball lightning. Here's a video I made for a guide a while back that illustrates a few tips. Pay close attention to the singularity orb section where I explain how damage is dealt based on the weapon equipped.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIn87JYUQxA
Every attack in the game does damage based on the weapon that is in your hand when it hits the monster. This means that you can get hammer damage on an orb attack. Sometimes that means you need to dodge cancel recovery animations. You can see what I'm talking about towards the end of my explanation for tome in the video above.
I even got good at this on revolver (which I don't recommend actually doing). There's some videos up where I was showing 100k hits with a revolver because I was switching to hammer and dodge canceling fast enough before the bullet hit. Again, I don't recommend that particular strategy with the revolver, but it works amazing for tome.
Devil's kiss is a very high skill build, but there are versions of it that are easier to play. If you see people running around one shotting monsters and bosses, they are using something similar. It just involves damage stacking and using the Ember talisman.
The core way of doing damage this way is as follows:
Singularity Orb > Lucky Rabbit Foot > Swap to Hammer > Use Ember
That will pretty much one shot anything in the game if you're built for high damage. |
My version (The Devil's Kiss) has a couple of other ways of squeezing extra damage in, like Berserker Aura and Enrage, but it takes a lot of careful positioning, monster knowledge, and timing to be able to survive. I've used it to play reliably at 100 stacks of Epic, and it's the only build that I know that can really do that. Again, it's better to see guide I have out on it.
I have found the "Devil's Kiss" build, and a few of your (Venuminostrates[/]) and looked over them.
I like it a lot, I do like tome, the massive high dmg is cool, and I like to roll around the maps, not only for picking up orbs and such, but to get a overlook of the map and the fight, instead of standing in one place spamming dmg (e+q+L-mouse) :D
The dmg from the weapon in hand when attack lands on mob I wassen't aware of, tho I had my suspicions, hens the question. Comes in handy, I charge up 4+5 orb, shoot some when needed and insta swap to hammer and see the dmg increasing, its awsome.
I do get the idea, thanks.
I'll keep on testing, and farming, and mix, min/maxing here.
Thanks for all the help, info, tips'N tricks, farming routes, builds and everything guys.
Really appreciate it.
Looking forward to your guide this summer Ven.
Cheer, have a nice weekend.
Venuminostrates - dunno if you recall me but we chatted the other night - im the one who was using the valhalla build and experimenting with changing the last card - im still experimenting and having fun lol , When i finish i`ll make sure to post on your guide my results so others can try the variations . Also i`ll try and note any worthy farming spots i come across and send you the details to help with your farming guide.
I thought Rock and Roll drop only in motorhead world, but I found it on locations in Zagrovia on this where fight with 5 waves. Hmm. Maybe i found there silver bullet card. I don't have ember talisman, recepie too, and I canot kill Queen on one shot for farm 5 cards :/
Next I must craft correct divine/wicked cards. I have two +14% Increased Damage when above 90% health.
I have holly warrior charm. Don't have luck for craft holy warriors boon.
Thx for build :)
VV is super game!
I remember :) That would be awesome! If you’d like I can add your modification into the guide and attribute it to you :) We can call it the Spritz Valhalla or something.
And yeah! Let me know what you find regarding loot grinding. I’ve been doing a systematic check Monuments of Rock for which ones are fast and easy, or have the most champions. I’ve also been making a list of quick secrets that close to map entry points. Plus I’ve got a lot of little tricks I’ve figured out over the years for making things go quicker.
Victor Vran is awesome! I love that so many people seem to be picking it up again lately.
As for Rock and Roll, the legendary weapons can drop in Zagoravia, although I only really recall it happening from gift boxes. The cards will only drop in Motörhead.
Here’s a tip though: Open your gift boxes in the Motörhead pub. As long as your in a Motörhead map, Silver Bullet can drop from them. Your best bet is to transmute your gift boxes up to legendary and then open them. You have a 50% chance for a legendary, but also a 50% chance for 4 wicked/divine cards. On paper you get the most cards by opening your gift boxes in legendary.
Farming Mordra, the Broodmother with 2x Elder weapons and all hexes enabled is a fast way to get loot boxes for transmutation. Every 3 kills is roughly a level if your elder weapon properties are maxed. If you get enraged (via guitar), and then blink onto her, you can probably one shot her with Bullet Hell.
If you have time to afk, you can also wait at the pub merchant, Lloyd. I’ve seen it sold there before. He will replace his inventory every 25 minutes or so (maybe longer or shorter, I don’t know the exact time). If you set an alarm, you can check and see if he’s selling it. He only sells 3 cards at a time though, so the odds are lower.
