Cant get to an item

Hello, I have started to play this game and I really enjoy it but I have a question. At the altar of the Valleys Cross there seems to be an item on a small hill behind the altar. I cant find any way to get to it. Is it supposed to be this way or am I missing something?

There's a big coral branch that goes up to the wall on the back of it. From there you should be able to see a wooden plank on the hill you can jump to. It's a somewhat tricky jump but it should be possible to get to
