Supply line doesn't work?
Sometimes, my sieging forces suffer from a lack of food even though the surrounding area is fully under my control. I have to manually rotate units in and out, even though they should be getting supplies without any issue.

What’s going wrong here? I don’t think it’s because of camp followers, since the early-game limit for each nation is only 5. I really wish I could remove the manpower cap for camp followers. this is so annoying! Especially when I have countless of food at my capital market, not sure how to send for to this starving province?

An army gets food from the local country side first, then then local market. If you already depleted both the countryside and the market then theres no supply lines to be had. If you are even remotely close to the coast its a good idea to move your navy there and set it to recieve and distribute food, so it can become a mobile food center that can gather food from other markets.

How is it possible? The surrounding regions still replenish my food, so I should be able to direct it to my sieging force there.

That's how it should work in theory, but either the UI is lying or the calculation itself is wrong.
I can plant my army on my own territory and watch it starve. But the UI shows the province they're on still has a positive income of food and a healthy stockpile.
How do you explain that?

Supply weight.

Food is one source of attrition, supply weight is another like with EU4 or HOI4.

Nope. Under supply weight. I've got plenty of experience with EU4, so I've got a good grasp of attrition in that game.

Market access % of the location they are in. If they are far from the market center and your in some rural village with no buildings to improve market access, then you have basicly no market access.
Market access? Interesting, I'll check that.
But if the food is sourced locally, from the province, and the province has a positive food income, why would market access come into play? Wouldn't that only take effect if the food needs to be bought from the market stockpile?

But if the province still has food that shouldn't be the issue I don't think.

Is the province in a fort's zone of control? I've noticed that if I don't own the area capital/it's a fort, then the food from any sieged provinces either within its zone of control or its area doesn't get used for my armies.

No, this was happening 2 provinces away from London, on the coast of England, and I own the entire surrounding regions.

The food is only sourced locally from the enemy, you dont steal food from your own people.
But regardless try building a couple of transport ships and enable food distribution on them, you will find they work wonders for your supply lines, ive been supplying the interior of tunis from the coast.

I'm going to quote the wiki here: https://eu5.paradoxwikis.com/Economy#Food
Provincial Food: Provincial Food is a province-wide food storage, and any excess when it is full or deficit when it is empty is added to Market Food unless the province is under Siege. Armies will consume Provincial Food if they would otherwise suffer attrition. A province can only buy or sell as much food on the market as it can store in Provincial Food, regardless of Local Food production and consumption.
My provincial food storage was healthy. If the army was starving I would've expected it to be in the red or close to.

I know, but that shouldn't be necessary when the armies are just resting in my own territory, in times of peace.

What is the production stat and storage of the example in question?
Don't have numbers off the top of my head, I'll have to take a screenshot of the next time this happens.

If you click your army and point at food status, it will also tell you its food source.
