1.4 eliminates manual trading??
Prior to 1.4 we could create manual trades without going through the "Trade Orders" mechanic. Either I'm blind, or manual trades are now completely blocked and you can't even get a list of what the most profitable trades would be, as before. If the game is forcing us to use Trade Orders in place of manual trade entries, that completely sucks, even with the Trade Order improvements.

I'm not sure what I am missing, but I don't see how.

Likewise, I don't see how. I've tried trading, and even when I can set up a trade, the AI will just decide to not actively trade it and trade what it decides, whether I've turned off the automation, turned off the minimum profit , mandated X percentage etc ...

trade is pointless now IMO. Like I get a lot of people don't want to micromanage. But if you literally have no ability to adjust it - why bother?
you definitely can, just tried it

If you are able to give us a pointer, that would be awesome. Anytime I try to set up trades the old way I'm taken to the Trade Order interface.

That's what I thought.
Trade orders replaced it yes. I usually play trading republics and I am fine with it. If you ever get to insane trading capicity in 30 markets you'll know why.
I've been able to kinda - sorta? - make manual trades - using trade orders. Key is just selecting a bunch of goods and for the most part, what I want is being traded. Still don't like it as much as the previous 1.3 but I don't hate it quite as much as I did yesterday
Just tried it. It is the trade order window but to manual trade you turn off min. profit and select what market you want to export to near the top. I'm forcing 40 wheat unto the Naples market from Konstantinopolis, 27.96 supply from local and 12.03 from burghers importing. You can also turn off per market automation so this is my only trade in that market and I have 230 something unallocated points.

Yes, I think they thought that putting in a single order to/from a specified market would obsolete the need for manual trades, but it is still going through the Trade Order logic rather than just posting the trade as before, which means that there are delays and stuff. Also I feel blind because there is no easy way to see in advance what the profitable trades are or how much you are likely to make on any Trade Order you enter. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but for now I'm just going to go pout in my corner.
Guys I figured it out. When you make a custom import order, you can whitelist which market(s) you purchase from for that specific import order with a button in the top left, either 1 or multiple. You can make multiple import orders this way, thus purchasing 1 or more resources from each individual market. Disabling automatic trading allows you to personally allocate the trade capacity limit for each order
