Political Influence
I'm 5 minutes in and already hate political influence. There are things you just want to do at the start of the game - but nooo, you lack the influence. So it's just a tool to delay. Did anyone ask for that?

I disagree. Hard. You just can't change everything about your country in one go anymore. I like that you have to decide what is more important to you in that moment. It is not a extremly limited currency. You get everything done anyway. Just not immediatly.
But there already are limiting factors for this - stab, legitimacy, money. Why add another one? You say it's not limiting (later I assume) so it only bugs you early and later you ignore it? That doesn't read like a fun mechanic to me.
I am going to create a mod that gives plenty of PI mana.

I think 5 times faster is enough.

There are countries that desperately need changes right from the start of the game—such as Byzantium and the Anatolian beyliks.
You're out of mana, mate. Crap, we're getting back to the worst things from EU4.
It also took you 5 minutes to write your review, given how disastrous your comments were.
Is it really mana?

Kind of yup
The growth rate of Political Influence is basically random. It is based largely on the stats of your ruler, and since these are random, the PI growth is too. If you have ruler with godly stats, you get more PI but if you are stuck with low ones for 50 years there is nothing you can do to fix that. You can not build up economy to have more PI. There are some modifiers that increase it but these are extremely small, like 5%, which has no real impact.
To be fair I now have dozens of hours in 1.4 and even though my original statement still stands (it's a mechanic no one really asked for) it is only a nuisance early game. Later I appreciated that many things used this throaway mana instead of legitimacy - for example mass spammung urban rights now doesn't tank your legitimacy but only uses PI mana of which you normally have enough of mid game. It is definitely something that needs tweaking but I have a feeling I (and the EU community) will get used to it once the initial WTF passes.
At the very start Influence is slowing you. But later it saves your money.
You can even push Parliament with it. It seems as simplification of management.
