1.4 granada needs a way to culture convert castile's provinces
Like the title said. There has to be a way. Atm you get -50% from cultural influence vs culture tradition and -60% because castilian culture is hostile to you. Then add modifiers from Spiritualismn and you just can't culture convert the first 100 years, even if you manage to conquer some spanish provinces.
So you will be locked in an endless cycle of rebellions with no way to change anything because castiles culture tradition won't be low enough to even think about culture converting your provinces.
Even converting the provinces won't stop them from rebelling. It's just no fun to play this endless rebellion cycle.

You just have to make two province Fiefdoms. It's very retarded currently how the Cultures mechanic work. You need to wait nearly 100 years to get the full cooldown to make Castille accepted culture.
Same from side of Castile
I had no issues with assimilating half of France and all North Africa (except tribes) as Castile. It was all about creating vassals with correct size (so they have high control) and make sure relations between cultures are correct.

The problem isn't assimilating other provinces as a huge nation with enormous amounts of cultural influence. It's about reconquering the provinces as small Granada with nearly no cultural influence but a a strong historical claim and very bad relations with the other culture.
Why don't you try the same with small Granada ?

I was answering to HojeTM who suggested the same for Castile, mate. My point is that for Castile it is not needed cause Spaniards already have tools.
