That said, it's a common mistake to accidentally remove a catalyst early as you're adjusting concentrations.
When you mouse over any effect that's removable, it'll show the concentration and machine needed to remove it. Run it through the listed machine when it's at the listed concentration and poof, it's gone.
If it's a non-removable side effect, it'll say so rather than listing a concentration and machine. This does not, however, mean that it's actually not removable. If you have the DLC, you can use a Booster Mixer to replace the side effect with a booster. Even if it's not a useful one for the product, it's still a LOT better than having a side effect. :)
