Trees growing back?

Trees no longer grow back on server restart. Do they grow back over time? Or will populated servers get screwed as trees are more and more scarce?

What is the time frame of re-growth, we've had some trees that have been down for 4 hours. With 30 people on the whole map is pretty empty.

This is also happening on the server i am on no trees coming back even after server restart

The trees will grow back after 4 hrs. Flax is 30 minutes.

Is there anyway an option can be added to ServerSettings.cfg to allow server admins to choose the old method or scaling of the new method.
