WIth relation to endings, I tend to agree, while it was the cheesiest ending as one person suggested, Ritsukos' ending was honestly the best and had the greatest impact, maybe this is just how my mind works, but due to Masaya being introduced to each of the girls lives it's safe to say as you said,
Rises' Mother will regardless go crazy,
Chihos' ending is just a short little ending that means nothing,
and Ayakas' ties all of the stories together with relation to their Mother.
However, with Ritsuko, her life and character is drastically changed, the other three don't really change, sure their life ends up being better ending up with the protagonist. An example is Ayaka, due to the connection with Masaya, will continue to stay in touch with her little sister because of everything they went through, who she was probably going to end up becoming and the path she was travelling would change, but Masaya would only sweeten the deal. Same goes with Rise and Chiho.
Honestly it's knowing what I know now makes me wish I'd do Ritsuko last, purely based on the fact I have a compulsion to when playing these games, having the last time I play, being with the girl who I see needs to end up with the protagonist the most. This is also why I hate Sunrider Academy to a certain extent, because no matter who I end up choosing it comes down to two whos' life would be substantially better with the main protagonist.
Another reason i picked Ritsuko was that i play those games as if i would be the protagonist and if this would happen to me in "Reallife" i would have choosen Ritsuko for sure cause i thought she is the most suited for my character.
When i read the Rise story here i was shocked and i think if i had choosen Rise in my playthrough i would have stopped playing the game because of my character. i would have died emotionally and wouldnt be able to play the game at all. It was already hard enough for my feeling to play Ritsuko´s because of the reason i mentioned already that i really try hard to feel as if i would be the protagonist. If you would see me in reallife
Ayaka´s sounds interesting aswell and would be my second pick if i wanted to play the game another time. I really am interested how Ritsuko would have helped her sister to obtain Mayasa by playing a rival if i understood the text above right.
Chiho´s story sounds really disappointing how you wrote it. I mean yeah that Masaya´s father would kidnap Chiho to get money for his dept is shocking but the rest sounds so uninteresting if i compare it with the other storys.
But well i think i gonna play some other VN´s / Galge and return to this game when "Princess Evangile W happiness" is translated. i read it gets translated some days ago.
In "W happiness" you get some more content for the storys we already have and get also the chance to play storys for Mitsuki, Ruriko, Marika, Tamie and Konomi.
I am really interested how the story of Marika is going to turn out and also i was wondering why Ruriko didnt have a story in the first game already since she was one of the character that already began early to love Mayasa.
And i think a Story with Tamie would be kinda interesting aswell because i wonder how she would have used her reports to help Mayasa.
It sounds like Misako, the Headmistress and Ritsuko and Ayaka's Mom ... well, it sounds like you said that Masaya replaces the "forced" groom and that he and Ritsuko complete the ceromony to get married. Then you say that Misako ends up accepting Masaya.... ???
Excuse me? Am I hearing right? A woman who hired kidnappers to abduct a boy, then blackmailed her daughter to force her to marry a stranger - somehow she was not held accountable, and instead her "approval" was still sought after? Holy sh**.. this writer must be a 7th grade kid ... or that's his intellect at any rate. That's just awful - seriously - That's garbage.
The whole thing about not being able to divorce is absurd as well. Christians? LOL... They are getting divorced EVERY DAY. Catholics are the most strict about that - and even 50 years ago they were getting divorced with NO PUNISHMENT from the church. I KNOW because ... my Grandmother got divorced - a devout Catholic - and she was still completely welcomed and accepted by the church. That whole argument is utterly weak. Even if they are Catholic, it's totally absurd. Let's see - "ruin your life" by divorcing someone you don't even KNOW and were blackmailed in to marrying, instead choosing to be with the person you LOVE - even if the church were to object or get involved (they would NOT, esp. the obscure Catholic church in Japan) - that's gonna ruin your life? How would it effect your "life" to remain married to a person you were forced to marry sight-unseen while abandoning the person you truly love and feel is the love of your life...? Talk about ruining your life. Such an awful premise for keeping her from divorcing the guy - that it would "ruin her life" to divorce him... LMFAO...
I have to say it again - abandoning the person you REALLY LOVE and marrying and STAYING MARRIED to someone who agreed to marry a girl who was FORCED to marry him (who the F does that sight unseen even?) ... the thought that she would decide to betray her true love and stay married to a stranger in order to avoid "ruining her life" by upsetting the church.... that is the absurd premise. And a person who has committed the crime of abduction (hiring someone makes you a kidnapper after all) and then blackmailed their daughter... how does their action, their true crime, compare to the crime of simply filing for divorce from a sham marriage? TIme for a little confession, mama-san.... "turn yourself in to the police, and then say 100 Hail Marys" is what the priest would say.... This plot is lame beyond belief.
Her mother should be worried that she'll be kicked out of the church for blackmailing her daughter in to participating in a marriage, after she'd already kidnapped someone.... lmfao.... How about instead of reciting vows, Ritsuko stands up and declares to the entire assembly at the Church - "My mother had Masaya abducted and will only have him released if I go through with this marriage to a complete stranger".... not that the Catholic church would sanction an arranged marriage anyway - that's equally absurd.
Author is a fool - "arranged marriage" would not be allowed by the Catholic Religion. Trust me - they make people go to pre-marriage counseling for weeks before their wedding just to make sure that they are compatible and to AVOID ... or decrease the possibility of divorce. This whole plot just sucks.... Sorry.
The point isn't that Ritsuko would ruin her life in any practical sense by divorcing her arranged partner. It's that Ritsuko has lived her entire life up to that point playing the role of the good girl, always doing what she's told, perfectly willing and expecting to go along with her mother's life plans for herself. While Ritsuko knows logically that nothing bad will happen to her per se, the fact is she's been raised a certain way and emotionally can't fully separate herself from that upbringing.
Ritsuko would effectively be betraying her very character. It goes against everything she's ever stood for, betrays her perception of Masaya's expectations for her, and would estrange her from her mother. Headmistress is not forbidding Ritsuko from a would-be divorce. She believes either that Ritsuko wouldn't have the balls to go through with it for the aforementioned reasons or, if she does, the emotional scarring it would cause Ritsuko would ruin her relationship with Masaya. Either way, it accomplishes the goal of ruining Masaya's life, HM's only concern.
Now, if you wanna continue to complain about how none of the wrongdoers in PE are ever really held accountable and punished for their deeds, that's fair game. It bothers me a little too, but ultimately I understand the main point of PE is to present a cute romance whre love conquers all and you end on a high note feeling warm and fuzzy, not necessarily delivering karmic justice to the bad guys and casting a shadow of doubt over your relationship.
I can imagine what would have happend to the school if it got out that it's headmistress had a student kidnapped and tried to force her daughter to marry an other man just out of her hatred for Masaya.
It would potentially have destroyed the school, remember it was already lacking funds, while having our main character just forgive her like that might seem somewhat absurd, and i still think that even having done her route several times.
I can definently see why, first off it would probably sour their relationship if he caused the school to go down, even if it was wholeheartedly Ritsuko's mothers fault, and as he himself mentioned, he loves the school he wants to see it continue, i doubt if the headmistress was actually convicted of a serious crime like arranging a kidnapping, that the financial backers of the school would have stayed for a second longer.
As for the other routes, i liked Rise as a character, her route was fairly standard though, but enjoyable, i put her an Ayako at about the same in terms of liking their routes and them as characters.
Chiho, well i sort of like the route, it's definently more comedic, her bear fighting hulk of a father, while oooooh so cliche in anime, was still fun, was nice with her epilouge in W happines and all, but i don't know, i just felt a little bit "meh" with her overal as a route and a character i mean it was nice, but thats about it.
I liked Marika and especially Mitsuki far more as characters and felt both of them would have been nice as "main" characters over Chiho, i guess it's allways the childhood friend that looses out, i guess Rise technically counts as one :p
I Was not expecting my post to be revisited after such a long time haha anyway dont forget to buy the fan disc sequel
Honestly i found all the routes entertaining and was not expecting an extra 10 hours of content per route so it was a huge surprise and was happy with the game despite it being on the pricey side
