We've been researching this issue and found that it is most likely an issue with the cloud save data.
If you're experiencing an issue with saving on Steam try the following instructions:
From the Steam Library, right click on any game and select Properties.
Under the Update tab, the Cloud Synchronization setting can be toggled.
If you're experiencing this on the Epic Game launcher try disabling cloud save. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.
