Thanks for the reply. I already played Life is strange and Oxenfree, loved them both!
Thanks for replying! I already played Kentucky Route Zero, waiting for the final chapter!
Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions. Story games are the best.
The Stanley Parable, Her Story, Lifeless Planet, Spirits of Xanadu, Californium, Serena, Verde Station, North, Home is Where One Starts
Some of these aren't pure walking sims, but they have elements of the same experience. Some of those won't have as good of production quality, but gameplay experience will share elements.
You might also like Night in the Woods then, if you haven't played it yet. Not really a short narrative (10+ hours), but it's split in different days with similar routines, so you can play it in shorter bursts. It plays similar to Oxenfree, with themes similar to Life is Strange.
Some more "walking simulator" / short narrative type games (of varying quality) that I can think of and that haven't been listed yet: Blackwood Crossing; Everybody's Gone to the Rapture; The Station; A Story About My Uncle / Valley (both with platforming/parkour elements); Stories Untold / Layers of Fear (both psychological horror); Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (Horror as well); Scanner Sombre; Event[0]; Sunset; The Beginner's Guide; Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist (free); Thirty Flights of Loving; maybe also Jazzpunk ...
I have to say though, those few you've named yourself, plus Night in the Woods, are already the best ones, from what I've seen.
Those are some very good suggestions. I had never heard of Blackwood crossing or the station, already added both to my wishlist. I'll play the free game next, it's got great reviews. Thanks for the reply!
Good suggestion! And I think they actually added a "Safe Mode" recently that allows you to just experience the story without having to worry about dying.
