Stuttering for anyone else?
Am I the only one experiencing inconsistencies with stutters even though frame rate is consistently solid? I forced exclusive full screen mode through Steam, which usually helps on Unity games, but this one is still up and down when it comes to stuttering. Smooth one moment and stuttering the next.

Seriously. So, this is a thing everyone is experiencing and okay with? Unity is poop.

hello! the most common cause of that is the texture res settings being high.
turning down texture resolution would likely resolve it, but if not, emailing support@fullbrig.ht with system info & unity output log would be really helpful. thank you!

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I'll go on ahead and give that a shot. Is this a known issue with high end cards as well (I have a 1080)? I'll definitely give it a shot. The stuttering is making it very hard to soak in the great atmosphere.

I’m seeing it a couple of times and if it wasn’t a known issue, it is now. Glad you’re enjoying the atmosphere!

I just purchased this game during the winter sale and finally starting playing it today.

I have a GTX 1080ti a OC'd i7-8700k CPU and play on a 165hz G-Sync Monitor (if that matters).

I have all settings set to max. This game is extremely jittery/stutter-y for me. Some places will let up and it will be pretty smoother, and then back to the jitter.

I lowered the graphics to High and it made no difference. Turned off AA even, and no difference.

Should I be capping my frames on a game like this? How big are the Max and High textures? 4K? 2K? or 2K, 1K and even smaller than that for low?

This isn't really making sense to me. Should I try tuning off G-Sync for this game? In "The Long Dark" - another game made in Unity, I had to turn off G-Sync to achive stable framerate.

EDIT-UPDATE: Capping my frames at 120 (Because I don't think a game like this needs 165FPS anyway) and turning off G-Sync (for this game) has eliminated stutter/jitter.

Interesting. I wonder if capping my frame rate at 60fps will resolve the issue. I tried exclusive fullscreen launch option (which usually helps with Unity), but continued to get those random epic stutters. This issue was 100% resolved when you capped? I'm sure 60 would function similar to capping at 120.

Sorry for super late reply. I wasn't sub'd to discussion.

I haven't played since posting that message, but I assume all is still well. I did the same thing for another unity game as mentioned above, and it eliminated the sutter/jitter in that game as well. I use the RivaTunerStatisticsServer tool/app to cap frames in certain games.

Are you running a G-Sync monitor by chance? I feel that is where my problem mostly laid. I hope you have everything worked out :)

I play in my living room 55" LG OLED, but Unity is generally a problem. I'll try the screen cap in RivaTuner soon and respond on here to confirm. Thanks for the heads-up. Real bummer that the stuttering is an issue with this game — hard to get into the universe when it pulls you out like that.

Old thread but.. I had insane constant stuttering with an 8700K, 1080 and 16GB, was especially noticeable when walking sideways. What fixed it mostly was assigning the process Tacoma.exe to only two cores via the Task Manager (Details tab, right click on the .exe, set affinity). Not the first game that can't handle lots of threads/cores but most of them are much older. Even 3 threads are still too much and give me stutters, must be 2. Or maybe Hyerthreading is the issue.

i7 6700k + gtx 1080 + win 10 and only stutters when I ride those lifts you put your foot in. I'm only playing at 1080p (highest settings/all enabled except vsync is off) though. They feel like streaming/load stutters to me and other than the lifts, the game is fairly smooth for me which is suprising because Unity is always a mixed bag that you never no how it'll perform on your equipment regardless how powerful. Unity is very sensitive to any DPC latency issues so checking for and resolving any, can help greatly. The most common causes of DPC are conflicts between the 3 following: NIC driver, GPU driver, windows power management settings/speedstep (for intel users).

I'm on a rtx 2080 and getting constant stuttering when turning around. this occurs high or low textures, vsync on or off.

Sadly, I gave up trying to figure it out and enjoyed the game as is way back when. The issues around Unity are usually apparent in the form of stuttering. Forcing fullscreen via launch properties helps, but in this game, it never fully went away.

4k locked 60, Max Settings,1080 ti and 3600, no stutters and running from a 5400rpm HDD.

I was running 4k 60fps and with gsync and just dropped to 1440p and no stutters. On a 1080 and 7700k if curious.
