im having trouble with maskfish too, can you turn on hud after you cast or no? also the tims will sometimes switch positions inbetween casts and it can throw me off, idk i just need some advice

Piercer. Simply will not bite my hook. Tried hovering chaw on a huge hook infront of it. Nothing, Tried hovering Chaw with no huge hook, nothing. Tried Large bait, including flicking the bait inside of its mouth, hovering, trying lure it by reeling while its chilling. Nothing.

exact same problem for me. piercer will not bite no matter what i do. all the guides say he's a simple catch but it just ignores my hook (with large bait) entirely.

Hey, I eventually got it to bite, and I genuinely believe the fish is bugged. Here's what I did to remedy my problem. Reload your game but make sure you exit whilst you're near the shore, nowhere near piercer. 2. Do NOT use glitterbait, for some reason it seems to have the opposite effect on it. Finally 3. Once you're back to where Piercer spawns at the Silo just do little casts and don't linger it in the water at all, eventually he'll just finally see your line and bite.

After spending literally hours on this fish, I can only hope my minimal advice helps you and others like it did for me. This fish has absolutely bugger all to do with Chaw other than swimming near and having one on its horn. Just need large bait, and need to make sure you don't use Glitterbait and don't load the game while in the Silo area as it seems to make choose starvation.
