sizzer trouble?

Its so annoying to have a great catch then have it taken away by a sizzer while reeling. Is there anyway to get rid of the sizzer when its latched on, or do you lose your catch once it latches on?

Depending on what fish you caught and how many Strengths you've got equipped, it's possible to still reel in your catch with 1 sizzer. I am unaware of any way to dislodge/discourage sizzers. If I'm likely to be fishing in an area with them, I'll usually try and clear most of them out but it can be a time consuming processes.

You could try attaching a Repel, but I wouldn't be to optimistic.

The thing with sizzers is that it can be either a blessing or a curse. Most likely it'll be a curse. Occasionally, especially in Realism, the sizzer will betray the fish and lead him to your boat without you having to do anything. More often than not, they will pull your fish anywhere. The best thing to do is to not interact and wait for the fish to get bitten. When the fish is bitten, the Sizzer will leave. Sizzers will only pull a fish that is alive (not biten.) The worst part about Sizzers is that there can be more than one on your fish at a time. If that happens, just let the line break. The only fish a Sizzer won't mess with are huge fish. Well, it doesn't happen to me. Hope this helped. :)
