Ship stats?
I am lookin at the new ships and seeing differences in size between vessels of the same class. For example 'Light Bulk' seems to be very variable. What I would really like is some idea of capacity either in tonnage or expressed as cubic meters. Even just an estimate of the number of standard shipping containers they can carry.

Of course maximum crew/passenger capacity would be handy too. Maybe some indication of potential smuggling space? I also get the feeling that different drives will have greater range, speed or efficiency. I am expecting all this to make a real difference in how I would opperate any given ship.

As a starting point. What do we think the comparative cargo capacity of the ships we have might be?

Alot of the discriptions found out on forums and such mention most ships are modular. So you can adjust between storage, crew or passenger bunch at a shipyard in-game. Still, info on which modular units go with which ships would be helpful.

While I too would like this sort of information, I'm guessing that we are going to have to play the game to get it.

To my knowledge no such stats have been made public, only that each ship will have a varying starting baseline that balances them all out, like one would be faster while another has more cargo space.

All I really know is via comparison -- Firefly is a Mid-Bulk, so everything else we have access to except maybe the Pilgrim is gonna be smaller than that. The closest we can probably come for now is probably just guesstimates from comparing the size of a human to visible portions of the ship -- e.g., Firefly from the show, Sandfly via the Belltower fan film (https://keepflying.com/ships/meet-the-sandfly), and Pilgrim via their fan film, the Verse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B24h1SYIxEc). We'll just have to extrapolate from there.

As for ship modifications: Ask, and ye shall receive: https://keepflying.com/2013/08

My why buy the other ships if you have a Keplar and a Pilgram? The pilgram is essentially the same class as the Firefly class 3 and the Keplar just looks awesome!

Not everyone has a Kepler.
I do have it but i am considering buying the others just to support the game. I really want to be this game a huge success!

Variety, I suppose. Also, to help out the devs a bit -- this isn't exactly a huge development house (tho they're not exactly indie-size, either). They've said that the funding from people buying BDH on Cortex has helped with dev costs for the actual game immensely.
