Glitch with not being able to talk to the resident/doppelganger

I'll be playing through one of the modes and suddenly I can't click on the character to ask a question. I had one run where suddenly I couldn't talk to the character, I moved on to the next one and it still wouldn't work.

I was just playing a little bit ago where I couldn't click on the character to ask questions, I let them go through, and suddenly it worked with the next one. I don't know if that's a glitch or part of the game. Has anyone else had this problem?

I should add, it seems to happen if I've been playing for awhile

I got this one too is so annoying
I try to replicate it with low success, but yeah I agree that it happenes when I play for a while also it happens (for me at least) when someone come and I (too fast?) check on today list
After I close it I cannot interrogate people if they have a missing doc

It happened one time with Francis, he gave me 0 docs and he lives alone lol

I just got this glitch the same way. I clicked today's list before the resident put their papers down.

I think the last time it happened to me, I clicked too quickly on the D.D.D. button and while a dialog box was still open, so that might be a possible cause

I've run into this bug too. I've been playing on the Steam Deck, and I wondered if that had anything to do with it.

I just had the same issue, but I've only been playing for about 30 minutes so far today. I didn't click anything either, they just walked in to the window, didn't hand over any documents, and when I went to ask it just doesn't let me click on them.

THIS! I'm having this issue too and it can ruin the run cause now I can't even check their docs if they didn't present them both

I have also had this problem in regular game mode and thought maybe they were doppelgangers, and that would be why I couldn't communicate with them. It happens even if I haven't mis-clicked, so I hit the elimination button. Sometimes I'm right, and sometimes I'm wrong, so I guess it's a glitch. :(
