Map
Hi. I think a map would be a nice addition to the manual.
For instance, knowing which stations the Express service stops at, where bends or speed restrictions are likely to be or where a certain station is - required in missions.

I have tried reading the maps on the depot walls - but cannot. Also it is interesting to know where you are geograghically - especially for us non-Americans.

Here[web.mta.info]
you can find the subway map of the MTA. If you click on the line numbers you'll see a list of the Stations belonging to this line.
For further information look up the Wikipedia page[en.wikipedia.org] about the 7 line.

There is a map inside the subway car too but it is not very detailed. Would be nice if it was readable but maybe this has something to do with resolutions. I am not running at the highest levels myself. A nice feature enhancement would be to place you on a route map as a glowing arrow or series of lights or even a miniature icon of a train depicting you moving along the tracks/route. Sort of like the old tower indicators used to work.

To give you a rough idea of where the 7 line goes then have a look at google maps, left click on times square station 41st street & follow the line.

I have rendered the nyc tube map for you at 300 dpi and 1200 dpi (aka. you are insane)
You can download the image collection here: https://home.ayra.ch/LOGIN/pub/Temp/maps.zip
I will eventually delete the ZIP file, so keep it somewhere safe.

The map shows the difference between local and express. The main images are called 'small' and 'big'.

Both exist in a "cut" version (totalling in 4 images). The cut version is just cropped to line 7.

While the images are in compressed png format, opening the big image requires you to have about 8 GB of free ram, or an image manipulation program that supports partial image loads (like GIMP).
The small-cut.png is still about 3000 by 1000 pixels, so it should be ok for most monitors to view at native resolution. If you have two screens you can place it on the secondary screen, but after playing for a while you probably will no longer need it.
