CPU question first desktop pc
Hi everyone sorry for this spam but I dont know who to ask I always loved this game and his community I wanted to ask: My old Laptop is dying and I have been 2 weeks looking to build my first desktop, I got almost everything but I cant choose the CPU "I have this 3 choices"
i5-12400F
Ryzen 5 5600X
i5-14400F
As Gpu I choose the RTX 4060 I will only use the pc for gaming at 1080P around 100FPS
Thanks for everything <3

Tangent incoming. Don't go for the 4060, try the new intel card, it's way cheaper and has more vram

I checked both Arc A770 and B580 but both are cheaper only if you live in usa :(

yes they have more vram but more vram is only needed if you wanna play very recent games or play 2k/4k and i dont need any of those

The i5-12400 is a decent CPU, but there's nothing wrong with the 5600X either. Don't get the 14400, that generation reportedly has issues.
They had two issues, bad batches (this happens to both amd and intel multiple times) and motherboard manufacturer configuration / bios software interactions killing the new chips. This is probably because they did new things.
Whatever GPU you get, I think 12GB is going to be the sweet spot for gaming.

Make the 12400 build go look at recommended specs on Steam, the most demanding games around start at 10xxx intel chips, I think you'll be good.

If you want to run MWO well, get the CPU with fastest single core speed. MWO is locked to a single core.

I mean, of course I wanna keep playing MWO but not only that. The idea is to build a Pc wich let me play at 1080p around 60-90 Fps for the next 5-8 years.

Go for the Ryzen 5 5600x and fast RAM.
6 cores / 12 threads are enough for gaming, but you can also use an 8 core/16 thread Ryzen 7 if you want.
The X3D CPUs with extra cache are also a good option for CPU heavy games.

thanks, thats the one I choose in the end. the pc is like this:

Budget 1000€ Spain prices.

CPU Ryzen 5 5600X
"Heatsink?" Nox Hummer H-903 130W TPD
Motherboard Asus Prime B550M-A Wifi II
RAM: Kingston FURY Beast DDR4 3200 MHz 32GB 2x16GB CL16
Power: MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80 Plus Bronze
Kioxia Exceria Plus G3 2TB SSD 5000MB/S NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Gen4

And last I want a 4060 but there are a lot of models...

Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Twin Edge 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 324,95€

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 327,95€

MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK OC 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 329,95€

ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 EVO OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 348,99€

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 EAGLE OC 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 349,95€ Warning*

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 GAMING OC 8GB GDDR6 DLSS3 367,99€

So im checking reviews because some of those are terrible... "The Eagle one for example*"

after that the PC is done :D

try the used market if products are higher priced than US markets.
i found my i7 13700k and board for $300 usd used and my 4070 for 500 last year used.
a previous comment said the latest gen intels have problems. they do, i7 13 and 14th gen are kiIIing themselves. i5s are ok. i have a massive aftermarket cooler and cant even run stock speeds. part of me is mad i didnt get an amd cpu.

if youre about to finalize stuff, be sure to think about getting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ am5 cpu and a good am5 mobo. Zen 6 will come out and when you have the money later youll have a really good cpu and can just wait for a good gpu deal. as for the 4060's I would say that youre not going to like doing that right now, lossless scaling gives you frame gen for any card you want. Look at it on steam I get 200 fps on cp2077 at 4k. It doesnt even look bad. Consider practical performance if youre convinced and get something better and cheaper. Maybe wait for the rtx 5000 series to drop and get a really good 4000 series for cheaper.

I already order the pc but if in the future I want to upgrade I just build a new pc.
I dont like the "Upgrade path"

Also im sure series 4000 will increase prices soon since its getting discontinued because Nvidia is a piece of **** who only wants to sell the series 5000 and they know their biggest enemy is their older models.
