ofc usually other equipment might be more important for chances of winning that single duel and whatever follows... not sure what to install instead tho, didnt look into viper build yet
Ofc when RT is destroyed, ammo will roll for exploding anyway, but without RT pure viper prime (which I assume they're running judging by suggested loadout) will be left with just SRM-6 (if their left hand didn't die yet) and with speed reduction; at that point 19%* of dying to ammo explosion doesn't matter that much anyway.
(* unless they put 1 ton of ammo and CASE in RT and other ton into CT, which reduces it to 0. Not sure if its necessary and not harmful tho. )
EDIT I'm dumb I forgot Viper is an OmniMech so it has CASE-like protection everywhere by default. Meaning can (mostly) safely put any ammo.
Or the crits to the engine. Or the crits to the leg. Or crits to the gyroscope removing mechs from the game.
2 MPL (side torsos), 4 ERSL (arms). Short range brawling. Higher dps, more risk. (what I run atm). Mobility is key for surviving.
Can also do 6 ERML. Or 4 heavy ML. Or 2-4 heavy ML or ERML + 8 LMG.

Funnily, while you can switch omnipods to put in more guns (such as 8x HMG build to kill lights), I've realized limited weight does limit the max performance you can get from viper regardless of pods. You'll have to specialize into either low-ammo high dps burster, or some laser skirmisher. Prime pure allows to have adequate dps (between all guns and quirks) with adequate sustain (ammo+heat) capabilities, so its not unviable. Just gotta not run towards main enemy force face on...
