Leaving match after being destroyed, are the rewards still awarded?
I got a feeling I don't get the rewards if I leave after dying early. I also had to play another extra CW game right to the end to get my reward Mech Bay.

I hope rewards are still granted upon leaving after being destroyed, it'd be cruel to force people to wait till the end.

Assuming it works like WoT/WoWs/War Thunder and so-on; you should still get the rewards, they just won't be added to your account until that match has ended. After all; you might get kill assists on people after you leave the match.

You will get reward.

Aha, thanks, guys =)

You will get most of the rewards if you leave early. Everything that happened up to the point where you left the match is rewarded. The main thing you will miss out on is assists. If you damage an enemy, you get an assist when it dies. If you leave the match before the enemy dies, then you get no assist.

AFAIK everything else will apply.

I think I actually had some achievements for assists pop up when I left. But I still got a feeling that EXP and Credits don't get awarded, because button changes to Quick Play from Rejoin, yet my EXP and cash stay the same.

You get the XP/Cash once the match ends, and can't use the mech either until after the match because it's "locked". You'll have to use a different mech to join a new match, or wait until the match ends if you want to use the same mech. If you're going for full-on grind mode, definitely leave early, there's no reason not to.

unless of course you want to do things like
watch other players and how they play
see how other builds handle themselves
learn where different firing lanes are
learn different ambush spots on the map
there's lots of reasons to stay, it's just a matter of the individual player

Well that's why I specified, there's no reason to stay in a match *if you're grinding*. If you want to actually get better, then yeah you could learn a thing or two by staying.

I see, thanks again, people!

aye, observation is a big part of learning. not to mention you can miss out on a fair bit of entertainment too. i only leave an unfinished game if i've been waiting to join a group or towards the end of an event when i'm more concerned about get qualifying matches over anything else

Learning bad habits is a comcern though. Only feel obligated to watch games that you have enjoyed. More likely to have played with good players and will make you less prone to get overly toxic.

^^
don't let the few dbags in the community seem like the norm. Usually everyone is pretty helpful and inviting. The MWO forums have some great guides and the public TS servers have new player areas as well

When I returned after 3 years break with the Steam launch it did look like many people were friendly and suggested help and TS voicecomm. But lately I see a lot of people who act like it's DotA. I really like the friendly community, I'd absolutely want to keep it friendly myself.

I hope that wave of new people won't spoil it for the vets and others newcomers who wish it to be friendly. Because if someone gets me started with insult pokes, oh, I go WAAAAAGH!

Once you leave the game you will get rewards for stuff you did up to the point you exit that match. But if you watch and spectate, you will get the rewards for mechs that get killed afterwards, such as assist, most damage dealt and such.
Get blowed up? Drop the match, queue up another round, cry LEEROOOY and let slip the hogs of war. Rinse, repeat.
