Lights: Spider, Wolfhound or Raven
Medium: Cicada or Vindicator (I think it has PPC buffs)
Heavy: Thunderbolt
Assault: Stalker or Awesome
Might want to swap the Med Lasers and MGs for something with a bit more short-range punch, though.
Also - always PPCs over ERPPCs, the ERs generate too much heat. On a Heavy or Assault you should have other weapons to fight with if the enemy gets close, in a medium or light the enemy shouldnt be getting close to you.
- 10 heat
- 1060 max range
- 540 optimal range
- 90 minimum range
ER PPCs
- 15 heat
- 1620 max range
- 810 optimal range
- no minimum range
It's a tradeoff, just like every other aspect of Mechwarrior. For extreme-range engagements, PPC isn't gonna cut it. Someone bum rushes you with MGs? PPC is worthless. In both of those cases, the ER PPC is unquestionably superior. You just have to work around more heat generation, which is why double heat sinks are a big deal, and learning the firing pattern is important, as with any other mech.

I would use caution when asking the "What's the best" line of questions on the MWO boards.. Those are questions noobs ask... Which for most of those type of questions there isn't a single answer to... because you have many factors to consider.. Like Heat management, bonuses, and Hitbox size etc etc etc (The Awesome has the largest/worst torso HB)... Some prefer the PPCs in the arm for the added angle.. others like them in the torsos and use their arms as shields for protecting their torsos... So that should help narrow which mech fits your bill... Also DO remember PPCs (both types) do require more skill to use then lasers/pulses because at longer ranges you will need to learn where the lead point is for the PPC on a target running across your line of sight which takes time to learn it if you're new to using PPCs.. But the ER PPCs do make one of the best pop up and fire (jump jets) weapons (i'd say the gauss would be the best) which when using the pop up and fire tactic is best used if they are mounted in the arms...
I love my Stalker-3F i use 2 large pulse and 4 med pulse on mine though
as for what to run it on its a tough call, i run a pair of em on my cicada but that was just a temp ti grind it. other than that, Panther has some good PPC quirks on a couple variants. i run 2 PPC on one of my variants for the heat efficiency and the fact i can get 90m away from a target fast to use them.
for clan just about anything can run PPC and win. some better than others though, just look at team mates builds if you die first and you might get the general idea.
Like you fire it 2 times and are overheated ?
Well I did think to make maybe this keep 2 for long range
and replace 2 with other lasers like ER Large Laser vs Large Pulse Laser
Anyway for range laser its sound pretty reliable.
Here... this will answer all your heat questions for any weapon on any mech

Light mechs are an easy kill in my opinion, can make my team mates.
Clearly you haven't played Rank 3 or higher games then... a skilled spider/raven player will run circles around you and rip your back off..
yes by 1vs1 its a point , but not for a group of heavy mechs.
