Can't give an advice how to do it, but can advise not to use anything but M&K for this game, except the following concept: use joystick (from the controller, for example, if that's possible) in the left hand for handling mech legs and mouse in the right hand for handling torso - it works quite good.

^^ joystick + mouse is the way I have played Mechwarriors since MW2 and I loved it so much that I prefer it on some FPS games too (Joystick to run and strafe, mouse to aim). For a less competitive single player MW I might try throttle for movement, foot pedals for turning and joystick to aim for immersion's sake, if I had all that gear.

As for the original question, I can't say I'm sorry. MWO has picked up any controller I have tried, but I've only tried different joysticks. It did detect the throttle slider on those joystick, tho, and 2 joysticks at once. I guess you could use some external program to convert throttle position to numerical throttle settings, but that kind of defeats the purpose. Could also try to use such program to disguise the throttle as generic joystick and then see if it gets picked up.

I have Thrustmaster T.16000M. Best ambidextrous stick I've had. Hall effect so need to clean dirty potentiometers.

I feel yah bro... mechs should be piloted with HOTAS or GTFO. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for the HOTAS challenged) MWO is very accessible with just basic M&K. It's the way I play it too. Some people have had some success with joystick setups. Many end up doing left hand joystick for movement and mouse in the right hand. For solid advice on this (although it might be dated now) I would suggest searching the forums at mwomercs.com. Be prepared for a lot of tweaking and testing though.

You should deactivate throttle decay first in the controllsettings (settings -> game).

The analog movement for the Hotas / joystick are in settings-> controller ->configure axis menu .

Doubleclick on the field and move the switch/button/axis of the HOTAS for the game to register.
Always safe the settings before you leave the menu.

Recommended settings for Hotas only:

Analog throttle (legs)-> Throttle Z (slider 0)

Analog turn (legs)->
-> either X-axis (Axis X) or RZ - Twist (rot z) or rocker button on the back (lateral thruster)

pitch (torso) -> Y-axis
torso twist(torso) -> RZ-Twist (rot z)

Recommended settings for left stick right mouse:

Analog throttle (legs)-> Y-axis (axis Y) of the joystick or Throttle Z (slider 0)
Analog turn (legs) -> either X-axis (Axis X) or RZ - twist (rot z) or rocker button on the back ("lateral thruster")

pitch (torso) -> empty -> not needed if a mouse is used
torso twist (torso) -> empty -> not needed if a mouse is used

If something is "backwards" with your mech tick the invert throttle , invert pitch boxes on or off .
