also what difference does it make? DOn't want to spend the money then don't. MWO has a very long history and a very dedicated hardcore crowd because it's based on Battle Tech. A good chunk of the community and players are older, have expendable income, and have spent for more for far less over our many years.

Don't put a negative connotation on how others spend their money when you obviously spend your hard earned money on frivolous things like high speed internet, computer games, and gaming computers.

You can play the game for free and eventually own damn near every mech in the game. It is a good deal for people who aint rich. Play the game (which is solid and enjoyable) for free. Win stuff. repeat!

Crunk. You are either a troll that was displeased with MWO and want to create a revenge topic to kill the interest of MWO. OR you might be a fresh one that got cought up in that ONE detail about the price of mech packs.
Its a Free 2 play game with options to get more mechs and stuff if you are impatient. Heck I have burned more than 80 dollars (no wait, I have used 160... no more then 200!) on this game and I still like it alot. And I support PGI because I believe in them, they have proven that recently, still some things do take time! T I took some time to play it before I brought something. To get used to it.

Also.

PGI were crap when IGP was at their side. Once split PGI is working their ass of to make this game great. Sure they hit the wrong buttons in experimenting with tweaks and whatnot in gameplay features. BUT they are a small team, Pirahna. The last thing they want are to shoot themself in the foot by really screwing over us players battletech veterans or not.

And the grinding for what you can get for free? I havent played world of tanks, planes whatever. But they say the grind in MWO is nothing in comparison to that. And yet World of Tanks still goes strong, even with stupidous prices on certain things.

So go salt some pork. That another thing I like!

Frankly, I had no problems dropping my 10$ on the Ilya (back in the day, one of the better hero earners). I have 100's of matches in that variant. Granted I did have to grind to get the next 2 variants... and PGI is extremely good at opening my wallet. Thats right, Im looking at you Marauder and Warhammer.

Have you seen how much high tier premium ships in WOWS and WOT are? this is no different, also you get more out of it IMHO.

Yeah the Mastery Bundles which are indeed brought with real money or MC are really worth it as a starter pack. Highly recomended, if you want the spend real cash only in the beginning. You get an overview before pressing that buy button in-game over what you will save.

The mastery packs has some of the best value in the entire game in terms of spending real money. I've picked up a few because I had sold a set of mech and wanted to pick them back up with their Hero mech. Great value coupled with the premium time IMO.

yep, seriously. This game totally lives off its whales that are OK with that pricing. But they need more people to shoot at, that's why it'll be on steam now.
