Considering the ECM Tax (if your chassis has ECM your other quirks are getting nerfed to compensate), I expect neither variant will get much in the way of pod quirks and in the quirk pass some stuff may end up getting moved the DWF CT / So8 and TBR RT / So8 so that they're not clearly superior to the alternatives.
My last time playing I dumped the whole weapons tree from my Dire Whale and stuck all the slots into mobility to max it out and managed to garner two solo kills against a heavy and a medium in a River City battle.
Gonna have to find and read the literature on these new updates.
Timber Wolves were once the alpha mechs of MWO....that time has long since passed. Large hit boxes and clan laser vomit taking too long to apply full damage = a good but not great heavy.
I love the Timby, but it is not an alpha mech anymore and IS assaults wipe the floor with clan assaults these days. The exception to this rule is the freebie Mad Cat MK!! PGI gave away for free.....it is a boss assault.
Asking for a friend.
Quad AC10+ERPPC Kodiak has currently surpassed UAC10 Kodiaks. The meta is currently about poking a hill/corner and firing a huge pinpoint alpha, and repeating that until the enemy team loses.
With UAC's & RAC's etc. long facetime weapons, you just lose standing out there while the enemy pops briefly in view to do pinpoint damage to you, and then goes back into cover to cool down for their next alpha poke.
You'll think you can just push at their position then as their builds are high heat and not suited for brawling, but you'll be pushing alone as the rest of your tem is also poking from cover. You'll just end up running into a gunline.
