As i said.. in the context of this game the summoner has a hard stand. If we were restricted by Lore then only Clan Wolf would have access to the Timberwolf. Other Clans would only have access to the Timberwolf in limited numbers, because as the name suggests it is a Clan Wolf mech. (And yes, i am aware that Pryde piloted a heavily modified version of the Timber Wolf). The Summoner on the other hand would be a Clan Jade Falcon Mech.
Stormcrow and Hellbringer are Clan Hell's Horse inventions and were distributed by them, which means Clan Ghost Bear wouldn't have any, considering Hell's Horse were their sworn enemies.
What i am trying to say is... not every Clan had access to all Clan Mechs. Just like the Inner Sphere didn't have access to all IS mechs. Which is why things like Catapult and Archer exist side by side. Once the Archer releases we will, in all likelihood have seen our last Catapult.
The ARC-2S (Archer 2S) has at least 4 missile hardpoints in its Sides, not the arms like the Catapult.
Doesn't it have quirks?

Admittedly i didn't check that, but those Narc Quirks from the Left SMN-B bonus are quite nice for faction warfare. You could put a Narc in there. Those movement quirks are nice on it.
It is also a lot heavier and certainly will be fired uppon at sight, and doesn't seem to have any worthwhile quirks.
And nobody disagreed with that. I even specifically said that in my post. What i disagreed with, is it being an underpowered mech.
lol luckily MWO is not having that restriction. If MWO doing that...i bet people will choose the clan/house with good mechs. Hmmm...archer,it's gonna be good. I bet PGI will buff the LRM a bit more,to promote the Archers.
Sorry my bad...it's been a while since i last saw the smn,it have some quirks now. It have some nice quirks there.
AFAIK know,clan mech with structural and weapon quirks are having some slight "weakness" like bad hitboxes or bad hardpoint (compared to others),why TBR doesn't have quirks even TBR is having minus quirks,we should know it better,good hitboxes,all round omnipods,better armor,having all the main upgrades,endo/ferro/DHS.
Hellbringer is 24,3
Summoner is 20,6
Ebon Jaguar is 28,5
Mad Dog is 26,5
Timber Wolf is 27,4
Well Timber Wolf seems to be the best by armor and weapons.
Summoner and Hellbringer doreally look interesting, but they seem to be not so powerfull.
I mean its if they can do hide and fire from corners this could be good.
Its just they are extreme expensive.
The trial Ebon Jaguar is just pretty easy to kill, i mean if the enemy gets you , he does die pretty fast. Timber Wolf can run away.
So I am not sure what of this 2 mechs Summoner and Hellbringer to try out.
I could wait for Orion IIC, but it will take time and you cant "change by him omnipods"

As for the Summoners, i've only heard bad things about them so far. Don't have one myself.
feels like a mech that sits back just snipe with ppc or laser and bring lrm support with narc capability
i run mine with just 2 LPL and 2 srm6 +TC Mk II, all torso mounted... works pretty good in close to medium range engagements, but i gotta add that i mainly use it in group actions
Hellbringer.+ AMS or A Mech with more fire power ?
i would say i dont own hellbringer i want to but no storage
look it this way a its similar to an atlas just heavy version
and less tanky
