Trying for half a hour now to join. Currently its 5/10 queue and 5/11 factions.
What do those numbers even mean? My position among competitors and in the faction in the queue? Why even have two different values?
Get in a unit and get 3 friends and then see how 12v12 feels with some people to talk to. It's a blast.
Also premades have priority, you can join into the que when its 12/10 but not get into the game because 2 guys in group joined after you when it was 12/11.
There is faction chat, I think you need to join specific faction for that not just freelance, that chat is probably your best info if FP is happening, as people will actually spam there if they need more people to start a game.
It can be quite fun sometimes and using drop deck always beats QP random nonsense, problem is that FP was meant for premades and "competitive" people, so sometimes you will get bunch of donkeys who rush in, die within 20 seconds, insult everyone around and quit ... when that happens, you are not losing 1 dude, but 4 mechs.
my faction has not come up in ages, and im not interested in playing for reduced rewards.
During prime time you might be able to get a faction match, but it is pretty dead, however, look out for event queues- Usually they are matches ranging in player amounts, modes, and restrictions, such as medium mechs only. Sometimes they play like faction matches too, with multiple drops in one match. Im not sure what the schedule for event queue is but if it pops up people are always playing it, it gives extra credits too
- I bring 100 tons but hide at 100% hp until 5 allies are dead
- we all march into the worst possible position and wait to get fish in a barrel'd
- we sit in the spawn doing nothing for 1-2 minutes letting the enemy team take positions
Etc. this happens in tier 3, the middle rank.
What happened in my experience in faction play was: it was just like QP except I get stuck for 4-6 times as long when it's obvious we've lost within 5 minutes. Now the player that runs away and refuses to engage gets to do it multiple times.
Yeah spamming only QP can get boring, but FP can be pain in the ass sometimes too, its still randoms and no tier restrictions, so one day you will be pwning people left and right, and next day you will be on attack and every match will be 20 minutes of sitting around getting farmed by defenders.
Stay on lookout for events, they happen fairly often, and are nice change from QP too. Stuff like assault mechs only, 4v4 or IS/clan mechs only is fun.
Soooo salty
