Confirming that i am doing this for the past 5 years and it helped a lot,
Also due to how frequent the game gets new content, it is prone to new bugs and crashes
And another question is, are you one of those who installed windows 11 ?
windows 11 changed a lot. It doesn't support old drivers.
Windows is no longer working to play games since they removed the old drivers who were used to play older games.
But it does happen, to a lot of people, so I know when I see these complaints that certain setups/drivers whatever have a horrible time with this game.
I don't know what the common thread is, but I don't think that this tiny team can chase down these bugs.
Sorry man.
Well, you didn't tell anything about your hardware or at wich point the games crashes, so what should PGI do, look into a crystall ball to find out the cause and cast a spell?
There are some very common causes for crashes in almost every online game:
If the game crashes if the players joins a server one of the most common causes is a mismatch between the games server version and the version the players PC has.
Could be a bad patch, and most devs do a hotfix ASAP against it.
Could also be data corruption on the players PC, and devs can't do anything about that.
Data corruption can happen due a SSD slowly dying, so check your windows logs.
The game can also crash if the GPU driver has a bug, either because a bad patch or data corruption. Stuff like that mostly happens after launching the game but before connection to a match.
The game may also crash if i can't connect to the account server, but usually with a connections lost / can connect failure.
Games may crash after some time playing due heat or memory issues (or both) usually with a error message from the GPU driver.
Same can happen with the CPU.
MWO has a log running for crashes, the cause of the crash is usually at the end:

also take note that nvidia blames intel's lack of unoptimization for gen 13 and gen 14 CPUs and actually calls them out in their own driver's known issues lol

If your system is using an Intel 13th/14th Gen unlocked desktop CPU and is experiencing stability issues/out of video memory error messages/crash to desktop while the game is compiling shaders, please consult the following sites for troubleshooting assistance:

me, as an ASUS ROG lover, on a Z790 i set the MCE to remove all limits but thermal throttle to 90, and set the SVD to Intel FAIL!..safes
