Also they would need co-op as it is 'online'
You're talking about PGI, mate. It would take the exact same amount of time and at least with the second option there would be more coming out of it.
Sometimes you might prefer Lasers, Missles or Ballistics in certain 'Mechs and then the game dynamics or your playstyle changes, meaning that you'll be rebuilding your 'Mech with other weapons again.
true after buying and testing weapons they have become a stock pile of weapon i either use or dont use, but buying mechs that you end up finding are horrible is another story lol.
I get what you mean, however 'Mechs that trend to be crap at times also have comebacks, due to change in game dynamics or vise versa they go from awesome to useless.
Some 'Mechs are great for FW, but are rather useless in Quickmatches, or they change the Quirks or the weapon effectivness.
There are a few 'Mechs, that I rarely use and only got to level one variant up and suddenly they become a very entertaining 'Mech.....or never been taken out again :)
ya kinda like my first mech the shadowhawk.. its a digital dust collector now only reason i dont sell it cause it was my first and a reminder ;)
i have shredded shadow hawks and others with my 12 er small lasers.. 60 damage alpha.. nova prime :).. a recent build i have been messing with (firing them in 2 groups due to alpha shut down and heat managment at 1.08) while firing in 2 groups i find i can let at least 4-5 shots off before i need to let it cool off some :), i have both groups mapped to my mouse (plus alpha) for quick firing but still manage the heat.
Only IS Mechs (Light & Medium) that can take that kind of punishment for more than one shot are Griffin, Shadow Hawk, Enforce & Centurion.
Had to buy 2 additional Griffins to use just ONE of them afterwards - there was a StreakCrow epidemic at one point...... to combat those Streak Crows we ran with 4 ECM Griffins, till they switched to SRM's then NOVAs......
It constantly changes, which keeps this game interessting.
ya im not into the faction war thing yet i have tried it but as i was new when i tried it wasnt all that fun and even the drop deck was filled with trials as i had no mechs to speak of, i have been running quick play for awhile now and i only have 5 mechs to speak of lol.. one being the shadow hawk 2h, nova prime, dire wolf b, gargoyle a, kodiak 3.
I ususally take out the same 'Mechs day in and out, but now and again a different model is fun and change and may suit team play better. Some work well in solo drops but others are better in pre-mades.
Though a full single player mode would be great (especially for new players), I doubt that's likely to happen any time ever. However, just adding some bot mechs to the testing grounds (as an option) would at least allow new players to get a feel for combat on the different maps before jumping into the 'Quick Play' grinder. Perhaps a system where shooting any of the 'dead' mechs on those maps causes them to power up and attack?
