Or can I put CASE into the left torso and then ammo in the same left torso so that explosion damage is only applied to the left torso?
I know I knew it sometime ago but kinda forgot xD Haven't used CASE in ages.
I ask this here since... this is the first mech where I might have 3 different ammo types xD
this is what i made xD

not very useful in IS mechs due to that and unless you put alot of ammo into a st (over 3 tons) most of the time you will empty those ammo bins before your st is opened (since ammo will drain from st first after the ct is empty) shame you can't put them in the arms since it be nice to stop ammo dets in the arms from damaging the structure of the st the arm is attached to due to how ammo detonation bypasses armor
Clan Mechs have CASE by default, IS has to expend half a ton to put case in either Sidetorso. Case prevents the damage from the Ammo explosion to spread to the CT.
CASE also protects your side torso when your Gauss rifle blows up (as Gauss Ammo cannot explode, the Rifle can, and CASE protects against that explosion).
CASE in your side torso does nothing for Ammo in the arm. How that works is that the Ammo in the arm explodes, and based on normal damage propagation rules your Side Torso will take damage.
AFAIK if it takes your side torso then the damage is spread to your CT if you have CASE or not, because the damage from the Arm Ammo explosion is not having CASE.
What CASE does is stop the spread of the explosion to the CT if the ammo (or gauss rifle) would be in the Side Torso.
2 gauss, 2 ERLL, 2 RL15 + 1 RL10, and 2 AMS.
Or
Swap the Gauss and ERLLs of the above for Ultra 10s and PPCs.
so ended up with this instead

also found trying to put weapons into the right arm and and use it annoying due to how wide the mech is, how far away the right arm weapon hard points are compared to most of the other weapons hard points, and due to your cockpit being placed more to the left then centered
it is more trouble then it is worth trying to make sure you can fire and hit the enemy with weapons in the right arm and not have them hit the terrain, buildings, or teammates.
Here are a few things you can try, that will work really well peeking:
BROADSIDE[mwo.smurfy-net.de] This is pretty straight forward... Heavy Gauss and MRM40...
BROADSIDE[mwo.smurfy-net.de] also good at peeking, optionally replace Large Pulse laser for a PPC, personally i like the PPC more but the stats are on the Large Laser's side of course.
BROADSIDE[mwo.smurfy-net.de] this is my personal favorite. Heavy PPC, MRM30 and uAC10.
And for the more 'close range' minded ones:
BROADSIDE[mwo.smurfy-net.de] This one is a bit more complex with an MRM40, uAC20, Streaks and small lasers and MG once it gets really close. This also peeks very well. The Small lasers and the MG are for when you got really close.
Or how about a good old dead side:
BROADSIDE[mwo.smurfy-net.de]
This one of course doesn't peek... but since the left side is rather 'far out' it makes a great 'side poker'. Much like a Thunderbolt, since you as pilot steer with your vision as center of the mech, but since your cockpit is off center.. this allows you to spin the right side forward, taking the huge wide left torso into cover... once you get used to it, much like with the thunderbolt, its actually quite nice to peek out of cover to the side. The mech has a very long yaw for a reason.
