Though my absolute favourite mech is That Mech, with This Configuration, in Game Mode because no one expects a This Configuration That Mech.
While This Configuration is probably less than ideal for That Mech I find it some of the most fun I can have in MWO, even great when you get buddies running Their This Configuration That Mech

Ahh yes the first mech I ever owned! Will never forget That Mech
I've gotten the alert that I've run out a couple of times, lol without losing an arm.
another one i've been running a lot is the Jagger 4 AC2's and a pair of ERML's, You can drop the lasers lower armor and swap um to UAC's (i have not tried that yet)
Crab, 6 ERML's or 5 MPL's. Super tanky energy boat that can really move.
If you really want to do something like that, use an assault, super nova, awesome or stalker will do it much better. All your ammo is in your arms and that is so easy to blow them off. Especially if anyone notices your build your toast.
Heck a Ubon with 2 ERLL's and a pair of LRM20's would most likely work better, lower profile and you have a little pinpoint as well.
Strangely, I also have a Raven built as a scout/Large Laser 'sniper' that I do fairly well in.
It can now run 4LL without ghost heat and still have 2 JJ. It's a dead side build and XL, so it's a bit trickier than other mechs.

Three Dragon Flames with Ultra 20's and 4x ER-Small lasers and an Atlas Delta with 2x LBX-10, 1x MRM 20 and 4x Medium lasers. It absolutely slays, you can flip entire matches with this setup and a good crew. You can straight up delete assaults from combat in 3-4 seconds of co-ordinated fire. You can sub the three Flames out for a 1C variant which gives the lance FIVE LBX-10's to throw with each Dragon sporting an additional fast-firing 26 damage burst for short range disposal, all with a 2/2 heat efficiency.
The mechs on their own are pretty impressive, but the way they work together makes stupid, ballsy pushes not just possible to pull off but the preferred method of engagement due to the shock damage they can inflict on Red team.
Honorable mention to the UAC/20 adder.
