The Flea doesn't get enough base armor to make the Survival tree really worthwhile
Whoever told you to skip sensors is plain wrong. Your ECM requires the Enhanced ECM skill nodes to be fully effective unless you're running in Stealth, and from there getting full radar derp is a 5-point investment that will synergize with your speed and ECM.
Take double arty strikes from the aux tree. As a stealthy light mech you'll often find yourself in position to drop one on a tightly bunched up group of enemies.
There are a few ways to do Firepower. The "peace sign" is good when you want all 4 laser duration nodes, otherwise you might want to go down the sides instead for the extra heat gen nodes. When you have 5 or fewer lasers, you can skip Operations and heat gen nodes, and focus on cooldown nodes.
