Here is a link to the road map,. Looks like march will be a good month to jump in. :) https://mwomercs.com/news/2021/01/2485-mechwarrior-online-2021-roadmap
Learning curve is steep, but your cadet bonus can get you a solid mech after you play your first 25 matches. They are adding lots of other things as well to that bonus in i think the feb patch, Maybe it's march.. check the map.
You can always DL the game though, load up training grounds and play around with trial mechs on all the maps to get a feel for the game. It's a good idea to do that anyway to check um out so you are not going in blind with people shooting at you. Learn the ramps, the choke points, places to shoot from, where cover is. Play a couple maps a week for an hour or so and by the time the patch hits you will be ready to lay some smack down for some nice newbie pilot bonuses :)
GL!
PVP and monetization. I want to play tactical missions, not arena battles.
Hoping MW5 ends up being a decent game through DLC and mods, but by all accounts its not there yet.
They game's code has been locked for almost 2 years.. despite that they population has actually stayed around the same. They are just starting to get back into improving the game again., and comp play is still alive along with leagues so i really have no clue what your talking about, though they are going to be tweaking things so i guess you won't like that now. I for one am excited to see things get shaken up a bit.
OP, they actually started the new free mech thing and c-bill boosts this month, not next.. You can earn a free huntsman this month as well along with other things. https://mwomercs.com/news/2021/02/2488-hunt-huntsman-presented-new-razer-v2-analog-keyboard
I honestly don't know what people are talking about horrible monitisation. You can play the game for free, and spending as little as 5 bucks to buy some mechbays, with the number of events, free MC, and c-bill sales on things you could have 20 mechs in no time. For those that feel like spending 25-50 bucks or so which is typical cost of any game can end up with a lot of mechs, paint and bays to ease the grind a little if you want to jump right into faction play, but honestly that is not the best idea as they are typically advanced pilots in the games Hardcore mode.
PS, if you want to talk more about this id suggest heading over to the MWO boards.
happy gaming.
It is lacking on too many levels. (And a all-time laugh for trying to sell suckers $500 USD gold colored mechs, that says all you need to know about the people running that game.)
Don't listen to the previous poster who is an obvious booster.
MWO is not good, and is simply a shallow arena shooter designed to suck money from the player.
no matter how much goodies they give for those who never spend $$$ on the game it is totally nothing at all.
it doesn't help to bridge the gap between those who spend $$$ on the game and those who never spend $$$ on the game.
-------------------------------------------------------------
so stop coming here and advertise that the game is improving and helping to bridge the gap between Paying Players and non-paying players at all.
Every so often I feel like I could give it a go again, but never do
and that OP make this thread on the wrong Steam Forum.
anything related to Mechwarrior Online Game should be posted up at Mechwarrior Online Steam Forum.
Just curious that is all.
