PvP is murder.
Let me know when this game gets some Player versus Environment modes so I can swat drones instead of being a murderer.
Mech warrior 5 coming next week i think is the PVE mech game. It's pretty fun if you like commanding a few mechs and shooting crap or even better have 3 other folks to play with, the game really livens up.
The reason I asked in the first place, is that I do not play PvP in any way, shape, form or fashion. Not even with friends.
This is because PvP is shooting living people, even if they are just virtual avatars. Meanwhile PvE is target shooting, even if the targets do maneuver and shoot back.
Therefore PvE is skill, while PvP is murder.
havent they already release mechwarrior 5 on epic games store with half acced content and end up getting bombed by the reviewers?
seriously, the whole game look like it was made by a bunch of community college kids doing school project.
PGI has systemically taken a Minimum Viable Product approach but they probably got bombed on the epic pig store because they yanked it from steam at the last minute after epic waved one of their nasty exclusive deals at them.
EDIT: Also I forgot about this video, sums up a lot of issues I had forgotten about.....

Wait a mo, so every sport is also murder? not talking about obvious things like boxing which does contain violence but also if two runners are competing for the first place, by your logic they are uhm murdering each other?? Wow. ;)
Nope. Every sport is not murder, because most sports those don't usually involve firing a gun or otherwise wielding some other weapon against your fellow players, unlike your typical PvP online warfighting game.
You really should check what you're saying to make sure it makes logical sense before you post it.
btw, I can't sell my Fireball or Snowball. I know they were gift mechs, but I have other holiday gift mechs that are sell-able. Not that i want to sell them, just thought it's weird.
Oh I do, pvp means PLAYER VS PLAYER the very foundation of many sports including Esports containing well pvp. :)
PvP in arena shooters is more like competitive paintball/softball, aka. wargames without actual war & killing. Especially when there are no consequences for the "slain" side. It's a sport, though more violent and confrontational than for example, volleyball which is also a team vs team pvp game.
It gets a lot darker in some MMO's where you can actually kill other people's avatars to loot their bodies, or keep them hostage for ransom. EVE online even allows players to actually scam other players so that the things they paid real money for, are stolen. EVE and other games like it are not just seething hives of cyberbullies, but organised cyberbullies who operate just like criminal gangs in RL.
In MWO the losing team gets a reduced reward. That's it. No permanent damages to their mechs and no possibility of losing anything they spent either in-game or real money in. What happens with a "kill" is that a player piloted vehicle gets wrecked for the remaining minutes of the match.
But I respect your policy of not committing to any kind of pvp. It's your freedom of choice.
You'll love MW5 though, dropping with your gaming buddies together as a lance of mechs is awesome fun even against AI enemies. Just make sure to use mods for the game, it has very significant issues which the fanbase has been fixing with mods.
