it reads like you're trying to use lock-on weapons at close range; if you're running LRMs, then ECM isn't the problem, enemies underrunning your minimum range is
if you're running streaks then it's likely either you or your target is within ECM cover, and bap/cap/clap only counters one ECM module within it's active radius, so it won't do anything to help you crossmap a dorito with an 'eye' next to it
1) Enemy uses Stealth Armor
2) Enemy has 2+ ECM
3) Enemy has Radar Jammer active
4) You are using ECM in Disrupt Mode
TAG doesn't counter ECM or stealth it just makes the protected mech targetable. If the ECM/stealth mech is close (<120m) TAG doesn't work at all.
wrong. An active probe completely disables the nearest, not stealth-armour, ECM.
So there is a zone where you will get your sensors disrupted by ECM even when you have a BAP.
If the enemy still can't be locked when it is within BAP range then it's most likely using stealth armor.
You are correct, I have been reading some outdated information and false ideas about ECM in general. In a 1v1 situation, BAP counters regular ECM when you get into BAP range.
