the best mech for Rotary AC/5
the best mech for Rotary AC/5

Hi, soon my favourite weapon will be finally available, so what mech should be best for it ?

I have already King Crab, Marauder and Warhammer,
but in no of them 3 or 4 of such guns could fit, so any idea what mech to get ?

Thing about it from my experience through the PTS, the RACs take time to use, and can't really brawl. It is probably best for Second Line that really don't need to be shot at. So thinking the 50-55 Ton mediums and 60-65 ton Heavies like the Hunchback, Shadowhawk, Rifleman, and Jagermechs would probably be the best mechs for the RACs

The Marauder and Warhammer, could possibly use it, but I think they are going to be better with the upcoming UACs. and the LBXs.

if you really want a mech that can boat 4x RAC/5s go for one of the Mauler variants (with at least four Ballistic slots of course)

And remember, the rotaries will require LOTS of face time on target. You're going to want them high and close to ridge peek or all left/right side to corner peek. Otherwise you're goi g to come around a corner, start laying in to someone, and have four mechs burn you down.

If you have good battlefield awareness, the RAC will be a decent weapon. If you don't... well...

UAC 10's seem like a better ballistic weapon for assaults. Two of those and two UAC 5's and you have better firepower than the Kodiak 3. More pinpoint accuracy and quite likely stronger cooldown on the ballistics too due to quirks.

IS UAC 10 is the real deal here guys.

I plan on tacking a few MRMs on to an Ultra/10 mechs. Both require face time with the target. Would also work with Rotaries.

Rotaries will probably cause too much heat with MRM's. You can't really stack much of the new tech with each other, you have to combine it with the old stuff.

Mechs where there is only enough space for a single RotaryAC are good. Shadowhawk, Bushwhacker, and on on.

I had a great time with a RAC5 on my Bushwhacker, pounding away at their face in between MRM and laser salvos.

It's a great suppression and armor melting weapon, which is what autocannons are to me.

If you are just looking to run as many RAC's at once in a single chassis as you can, you are going to be disappointed.

Its going to be the Atlas hands down. Because you cannot turn/twist that well anymore, weapons with high facetime and huge DPS will be god-like on it. Personally I run the D, so with the update I will be running 2 RAC/5s and some MRMs (likely 2 MRM10s).

The MRMs are more of a backup weapon when paired with RACs, to use when the RACs' jam bar is spooling down and unjamming.

Dragon.

dragon will be best Rotary mech.

the enforcer 5P might not be bad either, the one with the UAC quirks. 1 rotary on each arm and your a medium.

ammo or speed might be an issue but soo much dakka from a tiny thing.

Atlas DC, Stealth Armor, and RAC might be interesting. RAC is hot though, stealth is hot, but new LFE means more HS. Didn't try it out on PTS, should have.
yeah only thing i tried stealth on was the pirates bane, made its main weapon twin heavy MG and 2 small lasers. pending on map it ran hot. but when i turned stealth off the heat went away quite quick.

i shoulda rigged up my tempest with it.

I had little or no heat problems with my single RAC5s. I was able to push them pretty hard with minimal jamming and heat.

MRM20 + RAC5 + SSRM6 + 2 ER ML on my bushwhacker never even HAD heat problems.

Crap range.

No IS mech will be able to equip 4 rotary 5.
6 space each, not even KG has enough space in an arm for 2.
Plus each rotary does too much heat for this to be a good idea.
