It has a high profile, but it also has jump jets...together with its high shoulder mounted weapons makes shooting over top of obstacles (or over the heads of your team mates) very easy
In the aftermath of poptart-meta the mech was over-nerfed mobility-wise and nowadays it handles like an assault mech. So it is slow moving and slow to react to pilot actions.
I can't say it is a terrible mech but it is not a fan-favourite for sure.
(also it sucks :)
However, it can carry a massive amount of weaponry, half its weight at 37.5 tons. This combined with the JJ's make it a decent mech in spite of its sluggishness.
I run mine with 6 UAC2's and 7.5 tons ammo. It's a lot of fun.
Nightgyr handles a lot like a low tonnage assault, but omnipods, jumpjets, high shoulder mounts and laser heatsinks allow for a few interesting builds.
My personal favourite is 2 c-ERPPC & 2 c-UAC/5. You can poptart or burst at your leisure equally effectively in Boreal and Terra Therma.
