Machine gun nerf/fix?
Why hasn't pgi fixed those little ankle biters with 11 machine guns? It's pretty silly that machine guns can rip through a 100% healthy assault mech.

Just call yoru teammates over for support such as a Light more Medium mech and don't be left out of the group, and learn how to Torso Twist, They are Light Squishy, and anything from a Locus, Assassin, Arctic Wolf, Phoenix Hawk, etc. can tear through it like wet tissue paper.

Machine Guns are practically weak, unless you put 4 (3 if you have a HMG) or more into play, as such, putting a nerf into them for those who wants them, makes them a useless item for anyone else. Since they have no Heat their is no way add in Ghost heat to them. Recuding range won't stop it as the Pirahna is already being a close end mech anyways, and increasing Spread again same reason Range won't be affective. Add in a Jam Chance? That is just silly.

All a person can do is maybe decrease the Rate of FIre on the Mech, make it have a less DPS rate or Increase the Rate of FIre so that they ammo reserves are reduce, but still doesn't solve any problems, They could increase the size scale a bit, making the Pirahna a easier target to shoot at, but in honesty that just making a easy to blow up mech a easier to blow up mech.

nerfing them would be great, makes no sense that a little light mech can destroy an assault in no time flat, they don't know how to balance.

Yeah, I could see it working on mechs with red armor or no armor. But fresh armor? Nope.

Maybe because they aren't that big a deal if you are careful?

PGI is too busy nerfing clan lasers lol. That and the only real way to get them to change something is to find a dev (Or NGNG guy) and saw him in half with a mgun boat. Or set fire to their twitter, they pretty much never read the MWO forums - and absolutely never read the steam forums.

I don't expect them to fix it or even try to address it. I stopped spending RL money on this game over a year ago. Not going to put money into a semi-dead horse that is getting beat to death.
MG ankle biters are easy to deal with , i am both an assault main , and a MG light lover...

and from both sides of the coin all I can say is be aware of your surrounding and dont get singled out.

Except they cannot. It takes them a long time to do so.

It takes about 4-5 seconds to go even through the smallest of Assault mech inner structure. Not counting armor and potential structure quirks and skill enhancements.

In order to do damage it has to be below 150meters, and its CT has a total of 30 HP, which is about a third of most Assault mech's alphas, which are shot usually every 3ish seconds.

I suggest more aiming and less complaining.

If you hit the center back, you can get lucky and crit out the engine in less than a second. If you have around 10 back armor (as most do, roughly), this can happen before you can even react. The only way to protect yourself against that is to get both seismic nodes (which requires a lot of wasted nodes), so that you can be alerted before the enemy gets within useful MG range.

Clan lights: PIR-2, MLG-G, ACH-E, PIR-1

Just went on cbill/mc sale, nerf confirmed? lol. Recommend a lot of streaks for a while.

Engine's can't be critted out in MWO, they didn't translate that rule across from Battletech. If you're killing in that time, it can only be because of an ammo explosion - remember never to hold ammo in your CT people!

Looked it up and this seems to indeed be the case. Could have sworn I saw "engine destroyed" messages on the death screens sometimes.

Anyways, need a new explanation for how I see some people (and myself) melt within 2 seconds sometimes. I mean, I got shot by a Piranha once from the back and just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blew up, just like that.

Cause of Death: engine destroyed just means you’ve had your CT destroyed, or one/both torsos with XL/LFE engines, so you should see it most games. Other causes are legs destroyed or being headshot (probably “cockpit destroyed, but I’ve never been headshot).

As for them melting within seconds (usually it’s actually longer than it seems), that’s usually an already damaged back, or 2+ guys attacking in sync, or the afore mentioned ammo explosion.

Smacking a MG light upside the head with an AC/20 works wonders. Git Gud.

This. I play Assaults pretty often and really don't have that many issues with Light Mechs. A lot of it boils down to situational awareness and watching your map. Shoot, I don't even invest in the Sensor Tree, so I don't have Seismic either.
