I don't like the Mauler due to lack of durability, barn door geometry and low mobility.

For me the top picks are:
1) Cyclops Sleipnir. Pros: +mobile +hitboxes +hero. Cons: -hero.
2) Fafnir. Pros: +ECM +durable +cockpit level armaments. Cons: -hitboxes, -c-bill release date is October 2nd 2018
3) Annihilator (2A, probably). Pros: +extreme durability. Cons: -cockpit location.

IMO, if you want a 2xHGR mech for c-bills and now, buy anni (which is also the most durable option). If you can wait a bit and ECM is important for you - then wait for Fafnir c-bill release. If you don't mind spending a lot of MC for a mobile platform - Sleipnir is a way to go.

Mauler really isn't a Guass mech. Sleipnir, Annihilator or Fafnir if you want 2 HGR.

Mauler is not a close range Mech.. its terrible at Dual Heavy Gauss, because its built like a Barndoor and consists almost entirely of sidetorso, which means your DHG will blow up in a heartbeat.

I would go with the Annihilator 2A, because its the most versatile Ballistic Mech that will be able to do other stuff once you realize how much Dual Heavy Gauss really sucks. I mean, it's a lot of fun when it works, but 2 out of 3 matches it just doesn't.

Fafnir is quirked for for the use of Heavy Gauss to my knowledge, but i cannot say much about the mech and there is a reason why we no longer see them on the battlefield.

If wanted more mobility than an Annihilator (and i really would go with the anni, because he protects those glass cannons the best), then i would go with a Victor 9A1. It has 2 tons less ammo than the Mauler Build would have, but is faster and more nimble (as nimble as an Assault can get). Its probably even a bit more durable and few people recognize it as a threat right away.

I'd agree. The Mauler works best as a mid range support mech. You can't be leading pushes with it. There are heavies that have more armour, and it's stuck with assault mech mobility. It's a decent mech, just not what you are looking for.

Even a dual Heavy Gauss Warhammer 6R is better than a dual HG Mauler
(especially in Groupplay where 8 coordinated HG rule supreme)

Slepnir is the Cyclops Hero mech, only available either through the website or MC in the store.

The Sleipnir has another thing speaking for him: If you ever need a break of gaussing you can fit him with 4 LBX10 and with his afore mentioned agility that is also quite devastating

try 4x AC/2 instead of Gauss, same range, more heat but you need less ability with aim (you can fire more ammo and adjust aim)

sleipnir looks awsome but i dont wanna spent money on it :HeadExplode:

In that case I'd either wait on the Fafnir going for cbills, or use an Annihilator. Anni's are quite versatile in Dakka load outs.

No one else mentions the fact the Victor 9A1 Does heavy gauss well when quirked out correctly, Everyone looks at you and you just headshot them, Downside, 50 kph, upside, quick torso twisting speed to block hits.

I've been getting a lot of headshots in mine, its slow but very effective and no one expects you to have such weaponry on you.

I got three headshots in one match the other day, be sure to place quirks in Armor and the rest designed in gauss/range/cooldown/ammo/ The rest I put into sensors to get a tiny bit of seismic.
