Decales from supply caches?

So whenever i open a supply cache, i get a decal. But i can never use it or even see it in my inventory.

What gives?
Are they bound to specific mechs that i just don't have?
If so why don't they say?

I'm assuming you just got lost in the interface. It is there, if you look harder, though again - crappy interface. If it isn't there and you have truly looked in the right areas, that is simply a bug.

When on Decals, make sure you have “owned”selected up top, and “all” selected in the drop down box. It defaults to “new” on the drop down menu which stupidly shows you nothing.

Decals are for any mech, only bolt ons are restricted to particular mechs.

They're cosmetic and don't show in your inventory. Go to where you would normally apply paint to your Mech and then, on the right side of the screen, select "Decal." Then, choose "Owned." Your decals should show then.

Thanks guys, i've got em now, Kinda surprised i hadn't noticed it before. But i usually don't buy things like Decals. Or really use them.
So i guess i've just never looked into it before.

Yeah, the decal UI is really unintuitive and user unfriendly. Glad you found what you were looking for.

I'm mildly necro-ing this thread, as just now I received a loot box.. had a skull decal on it. It's nowhere in my inventory. I also received two weapons... they aren't in my inventory either.

Any ideas?

Go to the customisation, check the "owned" marker, and select the "All" tab, among the Decals. DO NOT click the all tab without checking the Owned filter first.

Remember that Clan weapons (prefix C-) can only be equipped on Clan mechs and Inner Sphere weapons can only be equipped on Inner Sphere mechs.
