VR Support?
Will there ever be a VR support? I would pay good money for it in this game! Could be the best thing in VR

There are no specific VR controls built into the game, but streaming the picture into a VR headset works fine already. You can even set head tracking to use some of the movement controls. I tested this on my smartphone with a free VR streaming app with a 20€ VR headset. So I would imagine those super expensive headsets also support picture streaming.
Nice so i could hook my rift up in this mech ? Nice i gonna try it out today!
Would ne awesome if they add like an addon to use the touch controllers so you have to turn on engin overheat etc. but i guess that would need a hole new game

If you have some sort of software which lets you map any controller buttons to keyboard keys then that would let you use your touch controllers. But if you don't have enough buttons on them then you'll probably have to keep on using mouse & keyboard.

Btw, you might also need to buy some streaming software if such a thing does not come with your VR headset.

The app I used on my phone is only a free test version and it allows just 15 minute sessions. But I don't think the full version would be terribly expensive.
Vorpex ? I think thats a very famous one, il look into that maybe it hase already a preset config

sorry for the necro but Track ir with vorpx is pretty good. If cryengine allowed hud repositioning it would be great but as it is you either have to play without damage indicators or use it in edge peek mode which although still 3d is pretty immersion killing. Track ir lets you separate head motion from torso movement.

MW5 is supposed to have VR support.

Check out Vox Machinae though, it's a pretty good VR Mech sim.

MW5 does not have VR support, nor does MWO. VR is a dead fad. Valve might revive it again, but I doubt it.

No plug & play support, but as I said in the very first reply to the OP, streaming the picture into a VR headset through an app works. I have only tested this with smartphone headsets though, and don't know about apps for the high end headsets.

2020 with Half-Life: Alyx will bring VR games finally on the map and after that im sure the hole year will be more focused on VR gaming. Or i can be wrong its all fairy dust who knows:steammocking:

This is what they said last time, and nothing came from that. Nothing's gonna come from it this time, either, because VR gear is still way too expensive. It's not gonna 'get put on the map' until someone acts as a loss leader, and there's some quality software and actual worthwhile entertainment uses for the technology.

WMR is cheap as hell and easy to set up. Plenty of games still coming out for VR, it's hardly dead but it could be doing better.

If its a dead fad then why are they still making newer and better headsets? And 3rd party addons for them?

You do realize that they already did all that in the mid 90ties. I still remember the Ads for the Shockvest you could buy to wear, which would simulate bullet impacts on your body. The rumblepad technology spun off of that.

That was around the 90ties VR craze that gave us amazing things like the Virtual Glove and Virtual Boy.. and several headsets (and as people usually like to point out at this point that they were 'to expensive'.. the VR headsets in the 90ties cost as much as a good PC monitor, and the current VR tech is a lot more expensive than it was back then).

Admittedly i am surprised 30k people even have Alexys, but one gotta wonder how many of those are actual consumers and not just people that are Entertainers (Youtubers and the like), Techreviewers, Journalists and a bunch of rich folk that have the disposable income to waste on a 1k peripheral, instead putting it into the next vacation :steamhappy:

I mean i really would have loved it if that 90ties craze, when even Hollywood was on board with movies like Lanmower Man and such, had taken off, but just like the 90ties... the same issue applies today... The installed Userbase is to small to be worthwhile to develop dedicated first party apps for it.

Why waste 5 years of development on title that has barely any users when you can spend the same amount of work and reach 10 to 100 fold of a market share. Unless you are a company that significantly invested into the development of the technology and thus have a vested interest in selling the tech, you are unlikely going to throw your work time out for a smaller market.

But without good Aps all you have are tech demos and "converted" experiences that are akin to sitting really close to your monitor*. And 1k to play that one game and a bunch of tech demos... thats just not an investment that is worthwhile, unless you have more money than sense or are some acolyte that somehow feels they need a super expensive paperweight in hopes that one day... maybe... the catch 22 will no longer exist. The irony however is.. if the catch 22 ceases to exist, you probably need a newer generation headset, and we are back at the 1k paperweight you spend your money on.

*And we had all that back in the 90ties as well (including conversions for Doom 1 and 2 where you would control headmovement and the like)
