How is everyone finding the Uziel-3P(C)? What builds do you find enjoyable on it?
Hello! I was wondering how everyone is finding the Uziel-3P(C)? I've only seen a couple in quick play (one of which got gunned down very quickly by my kitfox and an allied arctic cheetah because it got a little too close for comfort) and to be honest what I've seen doesn't bode well for the mech.

I don't plan on dropping c-bills on a build for it any time soon because there are other planned builds on other mechs I've had in the works for a while that require much more c-bills, but I am interested in hearing about builds that people have had success with on the mech. From what I understand the Uziel in general is more geared towards long range combat due to its unorthodox silhouette/shape making it easier to pick on in close quarters than other mechs.

We had a discussion about builds for it a couple days ago over here:

In case you want to read through that.... and i settled, for me personally, on this build: UZL-3P(C)[mwo.smurfy-net.de]

How do it like it? I quite like the mech. Its fast and Mobile.

A proper build Kitfox has no issues laying down damage like a 55 ton mech or even more. I had quite a lot of 1000+ damage games in mine

Most of the 3P uziels i encounter do the dual PPC thing... which means no damage below 90 meters. Its incredibly vulnerable to be rushed that way..

Not really. Its a midrange harasser. Because of the 2 high energy points and the high missile hardpoint you can effectively make use of cover, combined with the speed you can achieve.

There are a lot of places you can make advantage of your high weapons. Of course, you need to understand how the mech works.. and that just because you don't see the enemy doesn't mean the enemy doesn't see you. Its like a Stormcrow in that regard.

patiently waiting for mechwarrior 5 ... even considered going back in time to mechwarrior 4 but a game from 2001 is just too old lol

Oh, sweet summer child...

Converted mine to a 2x ERPPC sniper, seems to work nicely so far. Good mobility helps. I'm sure you could do other fun things with it, but that's what I've been using and I've been enjoying it. Reminds me of the old days of 2x ERPPC sniping with a Cataphract, but on something faster and with less wonky hitboxes.

That's good to hear!

Thanks for the lengthy response! I didn't really take the location of its hardpoints into consideration when I first looked at the mech. I may actually considering creating a build for mine sooner than I thought I would.

I'd just like to point out that we didn't rush the uziel, the arctic cheetah had been capping a point and then got attacked by a raven, I rushed over to help and then after the raven died the uziel decided to rush us for some unknown reason haha.

sad part is that it is one hit mech, you suddenly appear from behing cover and then someone one hits you.

happened many times, so no point to play whole mech.

actually no point to play whole game.

The mech has a much worse reputation than it deserves in my opinion. But, its not a mech you pick up and instantly know how to use it. It takes a bit to be mindful of all the things. The first 2-3 matches i was playing, i constantly misjudged just how far that hump on my back was sticking out.

Yeah... lots of bad pilots around.

Thank you for that valuable input. I wish you best of luck in a game that is more up your ally and more suited to your skill level.

Purely a learn to play issue. Plenty of Uziels do just fine.

Well, except for one match I played a few days ago. But that was positioning + being on a rampage at the time.

I'm new to the game and was happily suprised to find a mech I could start playing and tinkering with of the bat.

I have swapped out the snub-PPC's for ER Large Lasers and swapped out the LB-5 for 3 heavy MG's and a SRM 2.

I use her as sniper/fire support and only engage in close range combat if their is no other option.
Skill wise I went mostly for Firepower and Sensors and some in Mobility (to get in and out of cover faster).

Really enjoying it, but have 0% experience playing something else.

I put 2 heavy PPC with some extra double heatsinks and try to pop shots at people without taking any hits myself.

anyone tried running UACs on the uziel?

Been playing around with the idea of modifying this build to use 2 AC2 (with heatsinks) or 2 UAC2 (no heatsinks or one double heatsink depending on what I do jumpjet-wise)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I know it's hurting me more than it helps but I just hate to leave an arm weaponless! It's like having a marauder without PPCs in its' arms, a total blasphemy! Haha

EDIT: I've settles on using 2x AC5 and 2x ER Med Lasers

Problem with AC2s is... they do to little damage. They are great if you can afford to snipe the enemy... but who can? I mean.. truly snipe the enemy... sit at 700-900 meter away from the enemy and pester them with shots... in MWO that just makes you light mech fodder.

But as it is... even though 2 AC2s are 5 dps.... you have so much face time... Nobody is gonna respect you either, because their mech isn't shaking like hell and they get the "damn, that one hits hard" warning.

And with 2 AC2 i wouldn't do ultras... at the rate you are firing they will likely jam sooner than later. The reason i am using an uAC10.. is that i do not need to double tap to send down 10 damage at the enemy.

Yeah, hence why I removed the SRM and UAC2s and added in AC5s and it'm actually doing well with the mech (earning as much as I usually would on my Kitfox which has a c-bills boost built in.......)
