I would definitly not shoot both at the same time.
HBK-IIC[mwo.smurfy-net.de]
But if you are not married to the Uac20s...
Try this one... Dual Gauss (with minimal Cbill investment):
HBK-IIC[mwo.smurfy-net.de]
But either of these are usually the highly recommended ones, they do however will need new reactors:
Dual Lbx10/Uac10 version (they weight the same so are interchangable):
HBK-IIC[mwo.smurfy-net.de]
Or Dual Uac5s:
HBK-IIC[mwo.smurfy-net.de]
Problem is.. you only have 16 shots or 320 damage. It might be 320 pin point damage, but i do not think its enough to carry an entire match, and once it is gone you are in a 64kph medium with 2 medium lasers.
Sometimes I'll swap the UAC20s out for LBX20s or dual gauss. Whatever you do make sure you don't fire both UAC20s at once or you get ghost heat which makes you run super hot.
My build there comes with 5 tons of ammo, can go up to 6 if you take the jump jets out, so 700 damage to 840 damage possible.
Check out this guide:

Popular builds are dual gauss with backup lasers on an XL 200
dual uAC10s + dual ER medium lasers on an XL 255
triple uAC5s + 2 ER Medium lasers on an XL 225 (gets toasty, but has the best overall balance between DPS, burst, and jamming length)
4 uAC2s on an XL225 or XL200 depending on if you want backup lasers or not.
You should learn the heat system anyways as others have recommended, because then you can use double UAC20 and not have heat issues. That skill will be quite essential in higher tier games.
With double UAC20 you need to use one of the cannons at a time. Otherwise there is an additional heat penalty.
So you fire one UAC20, double tapping it, and then fire the other one double tapping it as well. Now you have done 80 points of damage to the enemy mech while with two UAC10's you do only 40 points.
For a beginner two UAC10's is good enough but over time you should master other weapon types and roles of play.
I don't understand the double tapping though, isn't there a cooldown involved?
Hentsman would be a better brawler, it can pack on more SRMs and its hitboxes are great for it instead of boxy.
With UACs if you shoot while on cooldown, you can shoot again with a chance that the weapons jams and it cannot be used for a few seconds
Basically for each time you reload you get to fire twice instead of once. Firing the second time has a chance to jam the gun though. Its generally better to always just double tap for the sake of effective DPS.
So I got the KGC-000 and I love the 20's on it, but using them puts a HUGE target on my face (other than the obvious "assault mech with a huge @$$! kill it!"). Are KGC's meant to hang more toward the back and clean up the battlefield, or what? It doesn't matter where I position myself, once those UAC20s go off, I literally have every enemy pushing past my team just to blow my @$$ up. It's starting to get frustrating.
