As for Group Match up it is a Feature so you don't have to be lucky to drop with a friend. I would say it is a 70% chance that you will drop in the same game, I have tried it before doesn't always work.
Even if it is the same group it still a 50% chance that you will be fighting in the same team.
Actually there is a good chance of your friends ending up on the other team as well, especially if you're all in similar tonnaged mechs. Its called "Sync Dropping", and if you do it 10-20 times in a row, you'll find it won't be putting you all on the same side ever match.
Ignore him, this is the second thread he's made where he just goes troll and wigs out on somebody. Either serious personality disorder, or Trolling.... Not worth the time.
Group queuing takes into account your tonnage and your group's average PSR Tier, with the PSR being more heavily rated. Think of the groups as different sized, and oddly shaped, jigsaw pieces. As such, it may take an extra 30 seconds to find a match, but it's still pretty quick.
The solo queue behaves similarly, but since there are more "pieces" to choose from that are all the same size and similarly shaped, the MM can mix and match a bit more quickly.
Sync dropping is against the Terms of Service and a reportable and punishable offense, fyi. If I ever catch you sync dropping, I will report you too. ;-)
There is a bug that can be experienced occasionally where the match search becomes stuck. It has nothing to do with the matchmaking though. I've noticed that it tends to be triggered most often when someone joins your group after you've started searching but before you find a match, although there are also other times when it will trigger. If you cancel the search, re-Ready, and then launch another search, you can typically find a match near-instantly.
This is a fairly stupid statement to make considering the preponderance of evidence that exists to contradict it. You pretty much just shot yourself in the foot.
There's no way you've searched for 20 minutes. This sounds like an angry exaggeration and I call bull on it.
The MM finds matches pretty quickly. It's real problem is that it doesn't do a very good job of balancing the teams. That's a very real and pertinent issue. However, search times in MWO are quicker than in a lot of other f2p games I play, so I wouldn't complain about them.
Thanks! :)
I'll take your word for it on Oceanic since I've never spent time on that server. I imagine that the time difference keeps you out of the other two servers' prime times.
Pics or it didn't happen.
Going out as a group in solo probably just adds enough people to the pool to get the scattered folks together and form a match. In group quene, you cannot throw teams together just like that, and you're stuck trying to find teams that are roughly equivalent.
2 - The OP is clearly trolling and is conflating his/her experience of being on only the oceanic server during a low population time of day with the experience of most players most of the time.
Troll boy is a troll.
