Gonna be expensive but makes my GHR and BLR deadly.
but yeah everything else said is true, you'll lose mobility if a side torso is lost, and die if both side torso are lost. its not lighter than a XL engine but an LE is a good step up for a lot of mechs that ran a standard engine.
that said, the only limitations for LE is you cannot run Heavy Gauss or LBX 20 with one, your slot count will be too great for those side torso. but, you could still run a UAC/20 with a LE. giving a lot of assaults a big, and painful weapon to be hit by, as well as a bit more mobility from a higher rank engine.
It was doable with XL, but with LFE you simply have to love this baby.
Wrong.. Case blows damage out the backside of the mech.. that part is still destroyed and rendered useless as well as everything in that part of the mech.. Case prevents damage from that area from transferring in toward the CT.. It won't stop an engine crit kill... 3 engine slots destroyed will kill you no matter how you add it up...
