Best Clan Ballistic Mech?
I've already got the Dire Wolf DWF-S and im wondering if there are any other good clan ballistic mechs besides the kodiak.

The Night Gyr is pretty good for ballistics, generous weight make filling the hardpoints with big guns appealing, a lil bit smaller the Huntsman can carry some of the smaller calibre ballistics well or if you wanna go even smaller the Adder can carry a couple small ballistics or one big.

The Night Gyr is a pretty good option, but i shouldve probably been more specific, im looking for a good clan assult mech of some sort, able to carry C-Ultra AC/5s and C-Ultra AC/10s and have enough weight/slots

MAD-IIC-A, Executioner...
Noodlejr Apr 17, 2017 @ 9:06pm
The Highlander IIC C variant comes stock with 2 UAC 10's in its arms, Executioner is not bad but some of its tonnage is eaten up with JJ's and MASC + or - depending on what you want, I have no idea on the Marauder IIC or the Warhawk, as for the Gargoyle I don't believe it can do what you want as good as the other options.

Other than the Kodiak and Dire Wolf all other options are sub par. Marauder IIC-A is capable of 2 UAC5s and a single UAC10 in one torso while keeping XL engines, Warhawk and Marauder IIC-D can do 2 ballistics at once of any size, Marauder IIC-C, Highlander IIC-C, and Executioner can do dual UAC10s, and lastly the Gargoyle can hold 2 UAC5s with nearly enough ammo.

Out of all these assaults only the Kodiak and Dire Wolf can hold more ballistic firepower at once than a Hunchback IIC, Marauder IIC-A being on par with it but with better ammo capacity.

Yeah.. Next in line would the NTG-B, using 4 UAC5's or 2 UAC10s and 1 UAC5...

$70 is quite a bit just for one mech variant. It's your money but make sure you can pay your bills first.

direwolf with right omnipods can have 6 ballistics (6 ac 2's or 6 ua 2's)

the ultraviolet (direwolf) with right omnipods can hold 8 balistics ( 8 ac 2's or 8 uac 2's)

having 6 or more is more of a troll build but it has hig dps, and if you use a macro it can fire pretty quick (high dps) especially with uac 2's, 6 uac 2's fire best with a macro, 8 is pushing it and doesnt fit the 6 allowed groups meaning you have to have 6 groups with 2 of them having 2 in the same group(s).

on the other hand how ever you set it up and depending on omnipods, the direwolf can be a great erppc sniper (4 errppcs fired in groups or chained or right clicking quicker in chained mode), and if you use the s version side torsos it has jumpjets :), ive had some of my best matches with this mech atm lol, i usually switch play styles when one gets boring or doesnt do well when people catch on.

it can do well as a front line brawler (while having backup) or pushing the front lines, if set up right can do high amounts of damage with alphas fired all at once or fired in groups one after the other, one of mine has 8 er small lasers 2 srm 6's and a uac 20 giving it an 84 alpha :).

only bad thing about direwof is its high priority target and its ct is huge and its kinda slow lol.

kodiak is ok but doesnt have much to it and you cant change its loadout.

not sure on other clan mechs for balistics, but keeping clan omni mech is in my opinion best as there loadouts can be changed if need be.

70 bucks is not one variant, Its 2 + 30% c-bill mechs, one hero, one special from the first 3 with a unique paint job, and 2 other mechs.. So 7 in total, as one mech gets duplicated.

You could get the 3 standards for 20 bucks, which for an assault is a decent deal.

that said, the HBK IIC, ebon Jag, Kodiak KD3, and dire are your best dakka choices on clan side

Forgot about the mech bays that also come with it.. as well as all the other goodies for pre ordering it..
I ordered only the collector's pack for the Mad Cat IIC.. I never pre order the heroes, and only buy them if i like the mech...

I wanted the C-Bill bonus mech and the Prem time since i'm not planing to buy anymore packs unless it's a WHM-IIC...
