There's a difference between "can get matched with" and "regularly get matched with." I seriously doubt you have the data to back up a claim for the second option.
And even other T1's have noticed T5's being match in their games... Colonel O'Neill is one... bear claw is another..
Faction play has less people in the queue than quick play and at some times of the day is very inactive. It is usually most active during prime time north american hours, usually something like 6 pm to 12 am eastern time.
Also as for tiers there isn't too much difference from T5 and T4 from what I've seen from my friends, but T3 is a bit more of a bump. I started in T3 myself at the time when the tier system was added and have since moved to T1. Usually by the time you move into a tier you should be pretty prepared for it and it won't be much of an issue.
I performed very poorly with trial Mechs but I'm happy being in tier 5 hehehehe. Managed 1.084 damage with 6 kills plus more assists. Got bumped into tier 4 though. I'd imagine it sucks to be at tier 3.
I enjoyed higher tiers more than I did lower tiers. I like having teammates and enemies who know what they are doing and enjoy the challenge.
Ah that's true to me too. OK I'll try to get into higher tiers.
Pertinent addition to a discussion from April.
